DiveSeattle’s Vision and Purpose: Exactly two years ago, DiveSeattle embarked on a journey to create not just a diving team, but the best DIVING PROGRAM in the country. What is the difference between a diving team and a diving program you may ask? Programs provide “sustainable programming” that continues to build and develop talent, a system that are trained with a path and direction to realize a results 3-5 years from now. A diving team, on the other hand, is focused on the short term, right here, right now. While the competitive team exists as part of our program, and the team is the highest pinnacle of our success, it is not our future, it is only serving the here and now. The divers who train for 3-5 years from now are our future, will define our program. Our current divers are our leaders that become our history. Thank you Divers for your hardwork and dedication to our program. We, the coaching staff, are incredibly proud of all of you for doing the work to get your fundamentals solid over the past two years so now you can take off and soar! Diving is FLYING. Remember that. In large, high quality diving programs such as Stanford, Mile High, Tualatin Hills, Santa Clara etc all have extensive dryland training aspects to their programs. In this day and age, dryland training for diving with dry-boards, trampolines, platforms are not just optional but a necessity, we are NOT competitive with the top divers in the country without it. Divers need to do board work, takeoffs and belt spotting sometimes for 6 months before they are asked to do a dive in a pool. The dryland program we have now has been mainly for tumbling and conditioning. The future is here and now! Ilich and Patti spent 1.5 years to find a suitable location next to the pool to make this possible. With the help of Olympic coaches and Olympic Divers in the design of the facility, we are building a world class dryland center for diving! ● ● ● ● 2 trampolions, 4 dryboards, and a platform with a foam pit Tumbling and gymnastics area Only 7 min from KCAC Over 3000 square feet All of this will be dedicated to dive training! As divers move up in their skills, dryland is needed for kids to become spatially aware. Belts and harnesses teach good fundamentals. DiveSeattle will be limited by their lack of access to tools to train divers. The Time is Now. The future of diving in Washington will be determined by this dryland training center. It is the hub where we can train as much as possible to give Divers the best possible opportunity, for the most success even when KCAC is unavailable. ● Equipment alone will be $75,000 ● Platform with Foam Pit $50,000 ● Operational Costs and Misc. $40-50,000 for the next year Our Mission, if you should choose to be a part of this, is to raise $25,000 with this DIVE-A-THON. This fundraiser benefits not only the team BUT also you as individual divers. Each of the area’s of fundraising we are doing around the DIVE-A-THON have great opportunity to offset next year's costs for your DIVER and help provide better training with the DRYLAND Center! We are currently developing the NEXT TWO phases of raising money! Stay tuned! Can you help? Do you know others that can help? Every family is busy and our office staff and coaches have done some amazing things to make this year's fundraiser as easy and quick to campaign as possible. We have also created three avenues of fundraising. Not everyone can go and talk with their neighbors or friends to pledge. But some of you know amazing local business owners you could offer our “AD program too”. This will take an attitude of teamwork and an “We CAN ATTITUDE”. The opportunities this will provide! ● International DIVERS can train during the day and homeschool-You must have a DRYLAND CENTER ● USA Diving wants to TRAIN here in Washington- YOU must have a DRYLAND CENTER ● International Dive Teams would like to TRAIN here-YOU must have a DRYLAND CENTER ● Olympic DIVERS want to TRAIN with US- YOU must have a DRYLAND CENTER In sports, having our young divers witness, train, and get inspired by those ahead of them gives them DRIVE and GRIT. Lifelong character traits that will help and stay with them forever. The possibilities of greatness we have yet to imagine is right here and right now! Thank you Jan Sheeley for stepping up to be our Dive-A-Thon coordinator! You are truly a leader and we appreciate your support! We put together THREE WAYS to raise funds: 1). Individual Diver Sponsorship - Through our Dive-A-Thon on June 8, 2017. Divers raise money individually for the team to earn prizes and parties. 2). Corporate Sponsorship - We offer three levels of corporate sponsorship that will be forever recognized in the dryland center: Founders, Sponsors, and Leaders are our main corporate sponsorship levels. 3). TEAM AD Campaign - This fundraiser will benefit the team AND the diver as ½ of the money raised for the athlete will go into an account for travel expenses. Businesses that support the ad campaign now, will receive 1.5 years of ad exposure, until December 31, 2018 for a one year price. There are many levels to the ad campaign to offer business with great exposure.
