Institut d'Investigació en Intel.ligència Artificial, La Obra Social "la Caixa" Apr 12 → May 12 R&D engineer - Bioinformatics Main activities and This two-month stay was the starting point for a future collaboration. From a bioinformatics approach, we try responsibilities to answer a simple but key question for Biology: what are the factors that make a pair of cell receptors interact between themselves? We built interaction networks according to the receptor-receptor interactions reported in the related literature. These scale-free networks provide us the tool to identify the most interacting receptors (hubs) and the least ones (non-hubs). This work proceeds with the statistic analysis to correlate hubs and non-hubs to biochemical and structural properties of receptors (e.g. charge, disorder, post-translational modification etc).
