Winter Holiday Home Work and Assignment
(2016 – 2017)
Class -VI
1. Parent Teacher Meeting will be held on January 20, 2017 (3 PM – 4 PM)
2.The school closes for winter vacation from December 21, 2016 and reopens
on January 20, 2017.
3. Attendance on first day after reopening is compulsory.
4. Perform Hawan at your home daily along with the other members of your
family and neighbours.
5. Utilize your winter vacation constructively. Read good books/English
newspaper daily. Obey your parents & help them. Be in touch with your
subjects. Learn 5 new words with meaning daily.
6. All winter assignments should be done in assignment copy.
7. Submit the winter assignments to the concerned subject teacher on January
21, 2017 positively. Incomplete work, late submission or non-submission
will incur loss of grades/marks.
8. The assignment will be graded for formative assessments/final promotion.
9. A class test will compulsorily be conducted on the basis of Holiday
Assignment of each subject from 28/1/2017 and marks will also be added in
FA 4.
English



Write one hundred forms of verbs (PV1, PV2 & PV3) with Hindi meaning and make at least one
sentence from each form of verb.
Make at least ten sentences taking different noun, pronoun, adjective, adverb, conjunction and
preposition each.
(Help: Do on A4 sheet and pin the pages into a plastic file. You can take help from English grammar
book or internet or printed verb forms sheet given by your teacher or any teacher etc.)
Read five stories of your choice and find out ten nouns and classify them. Find out ten verbs and
ten prepositions and note them in your notebook, use them in your own sentences.

1. Visit any Historical monument in or around your City and gather the detail information about it. Collect
the photograph, take interviews of the tourist (Ask them about their experience). Compile all above
information in the form of report or make a project file.
Note: Paste or post your pictures with monuments and Foreigners while taking their Interview.
2. Make a timeline on Contact with Distant Lands given on page no. 81 on A4 or A3 sheet.
3. Draw an outline map of India and mark and label the following by using colour:(a) The Gupta Empire in 400 CE given on page no. 90

1) Prepare a herbarium file of 10 pages. (You can use A4 sheets in place of herbarium file). Each
herbarium should contain the twig of the plant which contain at least 4 parts out of leaf, branch,
flower, bud and fruit. Along with twig also mention the type of a) venation (reticulate or parallel)
b) root (tap or fibrous)

Chapter Assessment (On CCE Pattern) of Chapter 5 (Fractions) , Chapter 8 (Equations) and Chapter
9 (Ratio and Proportion) should be done.
Do practice of Chapter No. 14; i.e. – Practical Geometry (Basic Constructions).
Be prepared for a surprise test based on the same three chapters.
ACTIVITY: Take a wire, string, wool or a thread of any definite length. Make at least 5 different
shapes by bending the same in different ways. Paste the shapes in a chart paper, file paper, scrap
book or any other plane paper. Also verify that the perimeter of every shape is equal.
