DTATroubleshootingSteps:
1. “DoyouhaveyourDTAMiniBoxconnectedyet?”
• Ifyes,continuetoStep3
§ Ifno,isyourtelevisionisHDMIcompatibleornot.
§ IfusingHDMI,locatethecoaxialconnectioncomingfromtheirwallorfloor
thatmaybegoingintotheirtelevision.Youwillwanttounscrewthat
coaxialandconnectittotheCableInontheDTA.Youwillthenusethe
HDMIcableprovidedtoconnecttheHDMIontheDTAtotheHDMIonthe
television.Youwillthenwanttomakesureyourtelevisionissettothe
correctHDMIinput.Finally,plugtheDTApowercordintotheDTAandthe
electricaloutlet.
§ IfusingCoaxial,locatethecoaxialconnectioncomingfromyourwallor
floorthatmaybegoingintotheirtelevision.Youwillwanttounscrewthat
coaxialandconnectittotheCableInontheDTA.ThenusetheCoaxial
cableprovidedtoconnectfromthe“ToTV”ontheDTAtothe“CableIn”on
thetelevision.ConfirmifthechannelswitchontheDTAison3or4.
Finally,plugtheDTApowercordintotheDTAandtheelectricaloutlet.
2. “Whatmessagedoyouseeonyourtelevisionscreen?”
• IfyouseeamessagethatsaysNoSignalorablack/bluescreen,followthese
instructions:
§ AreyouconnectingtheDTAtotheTelevisionusingtheCoaxialcableorthe
HDMIcable.?
§ Next,verifywhatinputtheirtelevisionison.
o IfusingCoaxialthenyoushouldbeonTVandchannel3or4.
o IfusingHDMIthenyoushouldbeonthecorrespondingHDMIinput
basedonwhatHDMIportwasusedonthetelevision.
§ DoyouhaveaVCRconnectedandturnedon?AVCRpoweredonandnot
settochannel3canproduceablueorblackscreenpreventingthecable
signalfromgettingtotheTVcorrectly.
§ Ifchangingtheinputsdoesnotcorrecttheissue,gobacktoStep2to
confirmconnections.
§ Ifyouseeamessagethatstatesto“Activate”,“ServiceInterruption/Temp
OffAir”,or“CalltoSubscribe”thenpleaseunplugthepowercordfromthe
backoftheDTAfor10secondsandthenplugitbackin.

Ifusingacoaxialconnection,thecustomer’stelevisionshouldbeontheTVInputandturnedtoChannel3or4
dependingontheChannelswitchonthebackoftheirDTA
ConnectionsfromDTAMiniBoxtoTelevisionincludingVCR
Ifusingacoaxialconnection,thecustomer’stelevisionshouldbeontheTVInputandturnedtoChannel3or4
dependingontheChannelswitchonthebackoftheirDTA
IfacustomerchoosestoconnectaVCRwiththeirDTAminibox,thesetupwouldbeasshownabove.
IfthecustomerwouldliketorecordusingtheirVCR,theywillneedtosetuptherecordingsimilartoadigital
box.MeaningthattheVCRshouldbeprogrammedtorecordChannel3or4(dependingontheswitch)and
thentheDTAminiboxwillneedtostayonthechannelthatthecustomerwouldliketorecord.
ConnectionsfromDTAMiniBoxtoTelevision(usingHDMI)
IfusinganHDMIconnection,thecustomer’stelevisionshouldbeontheproperHDMIinputdependingonhowthey
connectedtheirDTA.

theremotecontrol.Whilethelightstaysgreen,havethecustomerenterthe5digitcodeandwatch
forthelighttoblinkgreentwiceafterenteringthecode.
5. PresstheTVPowerbuttonimmediatelyontheremotecontrol.IftheTVturnsoff,youknowthecode
hasbeenaccepted.TurntheTVbackonandmakesurethattheVOL+/-andMutebuttonsalsowork.
Ifso,programmingiscomplete.
6. Ifnot,repeatthesestepswitheachofthemanufacturer’scodesthatwerefound.Ifyoustillcan’tfind
acodethatworks,trythe‘SearchMethod’listed.

theunitpoweredon.
AspectRatio(barsonscreen):
Ifacustomerstatesthattheyareunhappywiththebarsontheirscreen,havethecustomerlookforaFormat
orAspectRatioontheirTVremotecontrol.Thismaycorrecttheissueonsomeorallchannels.However,
ultimatelyifaprogramisnotbeingbroadcastinHDthenthecustomerwillcontinuetoseethosebarsonthe
screen.Ifthecustomerdoesnotlikethis,pleaseadvisethemthattheycanswitchtousingtheircoaxial
connectionfromtheDTAtothetelevision.
NoPictureonTVwithDTAMiniBox:
1. TryanotherchannelorenteryourPINcode,thischannelmayberestrictedfromviewing
2. VerifythatyourTVismatchingthesettingontheDTAMiniBox.Forinstance,ifyou’reconnected
usingthecoaxialjumpercable,makesureyouhavethesamechannelselectedontheTVand3/4
switchonthebackoftheDTAMiniBox.IfusingtheHDMIconnection,verifythatyouareonthe
correctHDMIinput.
3. Confirmthatallcableconnections,includingyourcoaxialcableissecurelytightenedontoboththe
cablewalloutletandtheINPUTportofyourDTAMiniBox.Verifythatallvideocablesbetweenthe
DTAMiniBoxandtheTVarefirmlyconnected.
4. IftheDTAMiniBoxvideooutputisconnectedtoahometheaterunit,verifythatthehometheater
unitispoweredonandsettotheappropriateinputsource.
NoSoundonTVwithDTAMiniBox:
1. VerifythattheMUTEbuttonontheremotecontrolhasnotbeenpressed;trypressingtheMUTE
buttontorestoresoundforboththeDTAMiniBoxandtelevision.
1. VerifythatthevolumeontheDTAMiniBoxisnotturneddown.PressthevolumeupontheDTAMini
Boxremotecontrol.Volumelevelwillbedisplayedonthebottomofthescreen.
2. VerifythattheSAPfeaturehasnotbeenturnedon.Pressthe‘A’buttonontheDTAMiniBoxremote
controltoseeifthatrestoressound.Ifnot,pressthe‘A’buttonagain.
3. Ifthecustomer’sremotecontrolwasrecentlypairedtotheDTAMiniBox,youmayneedtoresetthe
remotecontrol,andthenturnthevolumeallthewayup,beforefinallyreprogrammingtheremote
controltothetelevision.
