The Government of Uganda has received Financing from the African Development Bank in various
currencies towards the cost of Construction of Lirima Gravity Flow Scheme Phase II. It is intended
that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for
construction of Lirima Gravity Flow Scheme, Phase II.
3.
The Ministry of Water and Environment now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for construction
of Lirima Gravity Flow Scheme, Phase II that comprise of;

Supply and laying 45.85Km of treated water transmission mains;

Construction of 2m3 reinforced concrete Break Pressure Tank;

Construction of 2No reinforced concrete reservoirs;

Supply and installation of 3No elevated hot pressed steel tanks;

Supply and laying 53.7Km of primary water distribution pipelines;

Supply and laying 60Km secondary distribution water pipelines;

Supply and installation of 1700No water supply connections with 85km service lines;

Construction of 3No x 95m2 single-storey blockwork structures for Water Offices in Merkit, Molo
and Sibanga.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at
the address below during office hours (0900 to 1700 hours).
5.
A complete set of bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders on submission of a
written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX
100,000/= [Uganda Shillings One Hundred Thousand].
6.
The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions of Contract are the
provisions of the African Development Bank Standard Bidding Document for procurement of works.
7.
Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 11.00 hours East African Time on 11th
July 2016 and must be accompanied by a bid security of UGX 400,000,000 [Uganda Shillings
Four Hundred Million].
8.
Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 11.30
hours East African time on 11th July 2016 at the offices of at the address below.
