The Calgary West Central Primary Care Network (CWC PCN) is made up of over 410 primary care physicians, working in over 118 clinics.
Many of these physicians work closely with PCN allied health professionals including behavioural health consultants, dietitians, nurses,
pharmacists and social workers to collaborate on patient care with a focus on chronic disease management. In addition to physician-led
care teams, the pillars of the CWC PCN include improved access, health promotion and sustainable comprehensive family practice.
Collaborative Team Assistant (CTA)
(0.9 FTE Permanent part-time)
The Collaborative Team Assistant (CTA) provides
administrative support to the Calgary West Central
Primary Care Network (CWC PCN) clinical team and
plays a key role in the organization and flow of clinic
operations for our Collaborative Care Teams. The CTA
will be co-located at various clinics within the CWC PCN
and will support a multi-disciplinary team to ensure a high
quality of patient focused health care.
Key Responsibilities
Create and organize daily schedule sheets for the CWC
PCN Clinical Professionals.
Greet and direct patients to the CWC PCN clinical
professionals and respond to patient general inquiries.
Book patient appointments, call patients for appointment
follow-up and facilitate appointments with specialists and
other referrals.
Work in the clinical electronic record system populating
necessary patient information; ensure resources are
current.
Perform day-to-day administrative tasks: distributing mail,
arranging couriers, faxing, photocopying.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education/diploma and/or certificate in
medical office administration is desirable; EMR
experience preferred; strong Microsoft Office skills.
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a medical office
assistant in a physician-led clinic; customer service
experience an asset.
Current BLS for HCP(c) or Health Care Provider (HCP)
CPR is required.
Clear criminal background with Vulnerable Sector check
is required to start (must be valid within 90 days).
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and an ability to work well
under pressure in a highly challenging environment;
strong interpersonal and relationship building skills,
outgoing, persistent and energetic; excellent problem
solving skills and high attention to detail.
Reliable vehicle is required for travel between clinics.
