6. Name & Designation of the CCPI:
Dr Punit Chandra, Principal Scientist
Dr K. K. Singh, Scientist – F and Head (Agrimet)
7. Duration of the project: July 2015 to June 2018
8. Objectives of the project:
 To determine the impact of nitrogen stress on water productivity, nutrient uptake
and selected soil properties under elevated CO2 and temperature conditions
 To simulate and develop projections for crop growth, nutrient and water
requirement for varied CO2 and temperature conditions using crop simulation
models and weather generator
 To investigate the effect of elevated CO2 and temperature on biochemical
attributes of grain and crop residues
9. Expected output:
 Information on crop water requirement, nitrogen response and nutrient uptake
(N, P, K, S, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, and B) under elevated CO2 and temperature
conditions
 Simulation products (projections) on crop water and nutrient requirement under
varied CO2 and temperature conditions
 Information on crop and grain biochemical attributes and functional properties
under elevated CO2 and temperature conditions
