Match report: Caerwedros 2 – Capel Dewi 6
Capel Dewi inflicted a first home defeat of the season for an out-of-sorts Caerwedros team, for
whom the only ray of light was provided by Iwan Davies in the singles. The pairs was a close affair
until the eighth end when Rob and Sally Davies surged clear, building a lead they held to win by 10
shots to 6. The triples was likewise close with 2 ends to play, but Peter Fleming guided his 3 to an
11 shot to 6 victory. The normally tough-to-beat rink of John G. Evans could manage only a single
shot against the visiting rink skipped by Glanmor Jones who piled up 20 shots.
Congratulations to Capel Dewi.
Barry Davies, Captain of Caerwedros.
Match report: Dolphins 0 – Llandygwydd 8
A terrible result for dolphins but, on the positive side, we played some good matches. The pairs
played well and the game could have gone either way. In the triples, Dolphins stayed in touch at 9 10 going into the last end, but then dropped a 3. The fours also played well, but not quite good
enough on the day.
Jean Bond, Captain of Dolphins
Match report: Llechryd 2 – Aberporth 6
In the singles, Phil got off to a good start leading 12 - 0 by the fifth end. Bob made a comeback but
it was too late and Phil went on to win by a good margin, ditching the jack on the last end to make it
impossible for Bob. The pairs were very nip and tuck throughout with Llechryd winning by 1 shot,
a very close game.
The triples was also a close game, but Aberporth pulled away a shot at a time to win by 3 shots.
Llechryd fours, who hadn't lost a home game all season, lost the first end, came back to 3 - 3 in the
third, but then Aberporth pulled away by taking 4 on the fifth end. Although Llechryd tried
valiantly, they could not make up the deficit and lost by 3 shots.
Paulin Palmer, Secretary Llechryd
