GAINS for KIDS is a specialist paediatric clinical Neuropsychology service for paediatric clients and their
families from the Grampians region. Service provision is
underpinned by a Neuro-developmental framework,
where models of brain/behaviour relationships are used
to understand and maximize the child’s development.
Clinicians take a systems approach to client work,
providing information, education, and consultation to the
family, school, and other systems around the child.

Eligibility
Children and adolescents aged 4-18 years may be
eligible for Neuron-psychology services through GAINS
for KIDS.
Eligibility is also based on the following:
 The client has or is suspected of having a Neurodevelopmental disorder.
 The client has potential to benefit from
involvement with the service.
A referral to GAINS for KIDS in not appropriate if the
following apply:
 The referral is requested by or to inform court
proceedings.
 Neuropsychological assessment is required for
funding purposes.
Referrals are accepted from General practitioners,
Paediatricians, Allied Health professionals, Psychologists,
Schools and others

There is no fee incurred by families accessing GAINS for
KIDS.
Waiting time depends on priority and demand. Call for
current information.
This service is primarily provided for children and
adolescents residing in the Greater Ballarat area.
