Flying high with Hawk Conservancy Trust It’s really lovely when a client extends an invitation to join them for a super secret surprise celebration to thank the Hawk Conservancy for all of their support with Festo’s Don’t Just Feed Me Chicken workshop. So six of us snuck in the back door where the Hawk Conservancy team was celebrating its 50th anniversary with a superb BBQ prepared by Feathers Restaurant. Mark Hemming of Festo hosted a surprise quiz with the winners delving into black sacks crammed full of ridiculous gifts. Animal impersonations from Hazel Russell of Festo made the evening. The event was rounded off with Gary Wyles, Festo Managing Director presenting Jane Robertson with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of all the help and support she has given to Festo over the years. She also received an extra special gold Festo pin, reserved for outstanding performers. This is the first time it has ever been awarded to anyone outside of Festo. And I thought I’d share a lovely thank you note from Mark after the event. One man may hit the mark, another blunder; but heed not these distinctions. Only from the alliance of the one, working with and through the other, are great things born Antoine de Sainte-Exupery Dear Gary, Ronnie, Hazel, Sheena & Neil, If we could bottle it we’d make a fortune! If we could explain it to others we’d be wise beyond our years. So I guess we’ll just have to make do with the memories and in the knowledge, that last night at the Hawk Conservancy, we 6 put the ‘T’ into TEAM work and created for all our friends at the Hawk Conservancy, something very special. This team did GOOD! For me, and I say this very sincerely, the best part of the whole evening was that the 5 of you were there to share it with me! We created a certain ‘magic’ that will live with many people for many years to come. It would not have been what it was without the ‘person’ that is you! This is where words now fail me, so I’m going to let J F. Kennedy say them for me! ‘As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them’ Thank you, Mark xxx
