MIRA
Thematic WORKSHOP on AGRICULTURE, FOOD, FISHERIES
&
BIOTECHNOLOGY
Bari, 13-14 July 2009
From policy dialogue to work programmes and MPC’s
participation in FP7

From policy dialogue to work programme
The need to integrate bilateral regional priority
setting exercise
Different instruments established for policy and sector
dialogue with the Mediterranean Partner Countries
• Bilateral S&T cooperation agreements implemented by DG Research
• Bilateral EC-MPCs Action Plans implemented by RELEX in the frame of
the bilateral Association Agreements and ENP (having a focus on research innovation and Capacity Building)
• MoCo (Euro-Mediterranean Committee for RTD Cooperation) for the
regional policy dialogue on S&T
• INCONET / MIRA: regional platform (multi-thematic)
• Thematic workshops
• MIRA addresses the regional dimension but it is also an oppurtunity to
scale-up thematic issues identified in the bilateral dialogue with MPCs as
some partners of MIRA are also involved in the bilateral dialogue.
