Abstract from the official 2017/18 Erasmus+ Overseas call for outgoing students in Italian language
Art 1 – SUBJECT
For the academic year 2017/18 a selection based on qualifications and an interview for the assignment of n. 8 Contributions
covered by a European scholarship, to carry out a period of study or thesis activity research at one of the following foreign
universities:

Other places may be funded by additional funds. These places will be awarded on the basis of: 1) the number of applications
received for each country; and 2) the number of available places for each Host University.
Art. 2. HOST UNIVERSITIES
Information on each host university (Annex 1) is available on the University website of the Erasmus Overseas and it indicates the
academic and linguistic requirements, the subject area (ISCED / subject area) and other useful information.
The period of study abroad will last one semester and will be tied to the academic calendar of the host university.
In the application the applicant may choose one university per country for a total of up to 3 countries among those available, by
indicating their order of preference.
ART. 3 - ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES ALLOWED
The candidates can do those activities abroad:
• attendance of university courses and related exams;
• activities in preparation of the thesis (excluding research activities not covered specifically in their course of study): library
research , laboratory activities, participation to seminars;
ART. 4 – ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must:
• be EU or and non-EU nationals regularly enrolled for the academic year 2016/17 in a Bachelor, Master, Long-Cycle Degree,
Specialization School or PhD at the University of Pavia;
• be in possession of the academic and linguistic requirements of the host university (see Annex 1) ;
• not already have benefited of the maximum number of months allowed by the Erasmus + program in their study cycle

• not have their accommodation during their studies in the country of one of the selected Host Universities.
ART. 5 – HOW TO APPLY
The application must be filled online at https://unipavia.pandaform.com/pub/ejzj0a/new. The deadline for apply is Tuesday 28
March 2017, H. 12.00.
Candidates must attach the following documents:
a) Learning Agreement approved and signed by the Coordinator for the international mobility of their own Department; one for
each of the three chosen destination locations. The Learning Agreement should normally include at least 20 credits (CFU);
b) Language Certificate as required by the host institution as indicated in art. 7.B. It is not compulsory for doctoral students
c) PhD: letter of acceptance from the host University. It will also accept a confirmation email.
d) PhD: the authorization of the doctoral supervisor (the template is available online).
ART. 6 – SELECTION
Candidates will be selected by a Rector’s Commission in charge of the Erasmus + - KA107 - International Credit Mobility. The
selection will be based on merit; language skills; personal motivation.
Date, time and venue of the selection will be notified to candidates by email. In case it is impossible to appear for the interview in
person due to serious reasons (which must be justified in advance and in written form), the selection committee, at its own choice,
will consider an alternative solution to effectuate the interview (e.g interview via skype).
Candidates that do not take the selection expected without giving adequate justification in due time will be excluded.

ART. 7 SELECTION CRITERIA
a) Academic Merit
(Calculated authomatically on the basis of the student university career)

b) Language competences
(max 50 points: language qualifications and Interview with the Commission – see above)

c) Academic and personal motivation
(max 50 points: Interview with the Commission)
Language competences
In order to take part in the present call, each candidate must prove their language competence to be at least equal to the one
required by their chosen destination(s) – see Annex I, attaching to their online application one of the following documents:
• a self-declaration of their status of mothertongue
• an international language certificate certifying a language competence at least equal to the one required by their chosen
destination(s)
• a certificate released by the the Language Center of the university of Pavia certifying a language competence at least equal
to the one required by their chosen destination(s)
• a certificate released by a language professor of the University of Pavia certifying a language competence at least equal to
the one required by their chosen destination(s)
ART. 8 RANKINGS
Within the ranking per each country, the winners will be identified taking into account the overall score obtained, as well as the
maximum number of available places per each university partner. Rankings will be available within 10 working days after the
interview on Erasmus Overseas website.
ART. 9 - ACCEPTANCE OF THE PERIOD OF MOBILITY
Selected candidates will have to accept or refuse the mobility period assigned by the deadline indicated by the International
Relations Office. In any case, those who have not accepted within the period specified will be considered definitively dropped out
the KA107 Erasmus mobility for study for the 2017/18 academic year.
Selected candidates must be regularly enrolled at the University of Pavia for the entire duration of the mobility, and cannot benefit
from any other European grant for the same period.
Acceptance will not guarantee the student to be accepted by the host university: he/she must to be officially accepted by the host
university.
In case of vacant seats, the International Relations Office will communicate to the ranked candidates the new deadline for
acceptance. Those who will not accept the vacant seat assigned to them by the new deadline will be considered definitively as
dropped out.
During the mobility period, the student must continue to fulfill his/her duties towards the University of Pavia: pay taxes and
registration fees for the academic year 2017/18 and respect all the requirements and deadlines settled out by the Student's Office.
ART. 10 - REQUIREMENTS FOR DEPARTURE
For the entire mobility period, student must:
• be regularly enrolled at the University of Pavia for the academic year 2017/18 (exception is done for those who will leave in the

1 Semester and graduate by March/April 2018)
• not benefit from the same period of another EU contribution or under other international mobility programmes of the
University and / or equivalent to those of the University (e.g. International Mobility Programmes managed by Halls of
Residence);
• have not already reached the maximum number of months allowed for each level of mobility by the Erasmus + Programme (12

• not be assigned a number of months that, added to those already completed in the past exceed the maximum number of

months allowed for each level of mobility by the Erasmus + Programme (12 months for the 1 , 2 and 3 study cycle and
maximum 24 months for one-tier programs)
The Mobility is forbidden:
• during the first year of undergraduate studies;
• during the first semester of the first year of master studies;
• in case of " Registration under Condition "
• in case of mobility in their own country of residence
ART. 11 - PERIOD OF MOBILITY
The period must be carried out between 1 June 2017 and 31 July 2018.
The period abroad must be continuous and must last a minimum duration of 3 months. The maximum duration is 12 months, but
UNIPV will finance a contribution for a maximum of 6 months.
Any extra months will not be automatically covered by contributions Erasmus +. In case of need, the student can ask for an
extension of the mobility period, after having received the approval of the hosting university and the Erasmus Delegate in Pavia.
However the extension does not imply automatically any extra contribution, unless some funds are available.
The new period, extension included, shall not exceed 12 months, shall not go beyond the 31st of July 2018 and, added to former
periods, shall not exceed the maximum overall number of months allowed under the Erasmus+ program for the study cycle.
During the mobility period it will not be possible to graduate/obtain the title for which the student is enrolled in Pavia, nor transfer
to another university.
ART. 12 - FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS
The financial contributions may be awarded for a maximum of six months and will be paid as follows:
a) A monthly contribution of € 650.00 per month with 80% of the total at the beginning of the mobility and the remaining 20%
upon return ;
b) contribution to travel expenses: the total amount due on the basis of the calculated distances in kilometers from UNIPV to
the Host University (The calculation tool provided by the European Commission and the chart of travel contribution

The first instalment (80% of the monthly contribution + travel contribution) will be paid within 30 days from the signature of the
Mobility Agreement – on the condition that students:

Have paid taxes and the University fees for the academic year 2017/18
Hold a regular Permit of Stay for Italy, if non EU citizen
Have communicated the bank details following the instructions that will be given by the International Mobility Office
Have signed the Mobility Contract
The balance correspondent to the 20% of the entire scholarship will be paid after return from the mobility, within 45 days after the
student will have handed in the final documents certifying the period done and after the International Mobility Office will have
checked its validity.
Erasmus students with disabilities can beneficiate of special contributions financed by the European Commission in order to satisfy
their special needs. More information will be available for those interested.
PhD and Specialization School candidates will benefit from Erasmus grants, if compatible with other emoluments assigned. Priority
will be given to PhD and Specialization School students who do not receive a ministerial scholarship or any other fund.
Before departure, under the Grant agreement signed by the student and UNIPV, the financial contributions will be adjusted
according to the dates of the academic calendar of the host institution.
At the end of the mobility period the financial contributions will be adjusted considering the actual duration in days of the mobility
period, calculated on the basis of the Certificate of Attendance issued by the host university.
ART. 13 – DROP OUT
In case of interruption of the mobility without a serious and justified reason, the grant-holder must return the contribution already
received; otherwise the enrollment in the next academic year (or obtaining the final degree) will not be possible.
ART. 18 – TREATMENT OF PERSONAL DATAS ACCORDING TO ART. 196/2003
The personal data will be handled by the University of Pavia for the proper purpose of the Erasmus +. These objectives involve the
communication of data to external bodies outside the University (Erasmus National Agency, host institution), as provided by law.
