The food chain is the example of how each living thing gets food and nutrients and energy, and how it is passed from animal to animal
and so on. Some organisms use the sun which produces sun light for plants. Another example is a grasshopper who receives nutrients
from the grass then is eaten by the frog a second consumer and so on down the food chain. It all starts that way - one consumer or
animal eating another then another and so on down the food chain. The food chain is made up of herbivores, carnivores, omnivores,
and decomposers. The animals in the food chain are called consumers and there many levels. Humans are consumers they are at the
top of the food chain.
