A new carbon friction lining HC300 was developed for the HOERBIGER - Classic Line which, in
conjunction with the high-performance formed steel carrier rings, ideally satisfies the requirements
placed on sophisticated synchronizers.
HOERBIGER has sound know-how in the tribological field and can develop tailor-made metal and
organic friction linings in its laboratories, from formulation to manufacturing engineering. In addition
to the tribological properties of the friction linings, major focal areas include their reliable production
and application in the friction system.
An innovative manufacturing process was developed for the carbon friction lining HC300 which
enables HOERBIGER to produce and apply a carbon friction lining in-house for the first time. As a
result, the entire process chain all the way to the finished part is under one roof—an essential
advance in safeguarding the known HOERBIGER quality standard.
Like all HOERBIGER friction linings, the new carbon friction lining HC300 can be used in all
synchronizers of the HOERBIGER - Classic Line.
The outstanding properties in conjunction with various transmission oils have been verified in the
HOERBIGER test bays both on component test benches and in transmissions.
