The deadline is 1 August. The deadline for paying your tuition fee is 31 August. See: www.uva.nl/tuitionfees for information about the payment in instalments. Visa If your nationality requires you to apply for a visa and/or residence permit (www.uva.nl/visa) you will receive—or may have already received—an email with an invitation to apply for such a document. Please make sure you reply to this invitation swiftly, so that your visa will be ready by the time you will come to Amsterdam. For more information, see www.uva.nl/ visa. In addition, make sure you upload your English language test results onto your Personal Service Page by 1 June at the latest else we cannot guarantee we will be able to apply for your visa in time for you to start studying in September. We will be sending you an email with instructions which you can also read up at: www.student.uva.nl > English > Search programmes > a-z > Course registration. Course catalogue The course catalogue for 2016-2017 has been published. You can find it by going to www.coursecatalogue.uva.nl and selecting 2016-2017. Under Programme you can select your programme and click on More info. You will then be able to find detailed information about the courses that are being offered coming academic year. Time tables The time tables of the first semester courses can be found at www.rooster.uva.nl. You can check the time tables for the lectures of the first semester. Timeline Don’t forget to take a look at the Admitted students section at www.gsh.uva.nl and study the timeline for international students. You will also find all our newsletters and lots more practical information there. Student’s website News about the programme and the faculty can be found under www.student.uva.nl/en. When you enter the name of your MA programme you will find news and announcements specific for your programme. The A-Z list of this website contains a lot of very useful information for enrolled students, including an academic calendar, sports facilities, UvANetID, etc. Learning Dutch The Faculty of Humanities encourages all international students to learn Dutch. The INTT (Instituut Nederlands als Tweede Taal = Institute for Dutch as a Second Language) offers Dutch language courses at various levels, from absolute beginners to advanced. There are intensive courses in the summer months and in January, and less intensive courses during the semester. International students get a reduced fee. You will receive more information about these courses in the package that will be sent to you in the following weeks. More information can also be found at www.intt.uva.nl.
