The team generally has a single disciplinary focus. An individual at the Team Leader level typically reports to a Manager. Position Summary The Emergency Services Project Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the Natural Disaster Resilience Project ‘Building Disaster Resilience of Community Service Organisations and their Vulnerable Clients’. The Project Coordinator will also oversee the strategic development of the emergency services volunteer base to meet our diverse business needs. Position Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Manage the development and implementation of the Red Cross Natural Disaster Resilience Project. Coordinate the stakeholder reference group and schedule regular meetings. Liaise with key stakeholders including the National Emergency Services Team, the WA Red Cross Preparedness and Recovery Coordinator, local government, emergency services agencies and community groups in the delivery to target groups. Manage the recruiting, training and support of volunteer trainers and speakers. Undertake research in collaboration with stakeholders to identify key target groups, in particular organisations working with frail aged, people with disabilities and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Promote information sessions to target groups in conjunction with the local government. Coordinate workshops for target groups. Work closely with the Preparedness and Recovery Coordinator to manage the project budget in consultation with the State Manager. Prepare progress reports, financial documentation and final reporting requirements for the funding provider ensuring the project meets agreed time lines. Capture program data as necessary to facilitate the monitoring and evaluation of the program. Design and develop project resources including training and presentation materials. Coordinate and oversee the effective engagement of the emergency services volunteer base so that volunteers are motivated and enthusiastic about delivering emergency services. In the event of an emergency, undertake a key role in a coordination, command, planning or logistics role, to ensure operational requirements are met, both intrastate and interstate. Support the management of Volunteer Disaster Teams in the metropolitan and regional areas of WA. Highly developed organisational, administrative and financial management skills with a proven ability to determine priorities, coordinate activities and meet deadlines. Relevant skills or experience in the emergency management, community services or community engagement sectors. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral. Excellent public speaking and presentation skills. Ability to coordinate people and resources. Demonstrated ability to build rapport, negotiate and establish positive and constructive relationships with government and non government organisations in areas of sensitivity and potential organisational risk and liaise with people at a range of levels and from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in MS Office or similar software. Qualifications/Licenses Relevant tertiary qualifications, skills and/or experience in emergency services, community services or community engagement or a related field. A Federal Police check is mandatory for this role. WA Drivers licence (min) C class. DESIRABLE Knowledge and understanding of emergency management concepts, principles and state based arrangements. Demonstrated ability to motivate and coordinate volunteers. Ability to work outside standard business hours, involving overnight stays in regional areas and other states/territories during emergencies, meetings and training is a requirement of this role.
