Kurling takes over Cardinal Wiseman Sportshall!
On Thursday 2nd March 32 Ealing school teams attended the New-Age Kurling Competition at
The Cardinal Wiseman Catholic School.
121 pupils attended the morning with a total of 42 matches played. A short interval led to the
afternoon competition which included 121 pupils and 56 matches played.

In the morning ‘A’ teams were placed into pools of five and four teams. After the first round
of fixtures teams were placed in a second pool of teams depending on the finishing place in
the first round. The ’B’ competition consisted of one league of five teams across two courts.
In the afternoon bot the ‘A’ and ‘B’ team competitions were organised as two parallel leagues
of eight teams across two courts each.
The courts and teams were extremely well managed and coached by the Cardinal Wiseman
Leadership Academy who received training before the competition to effectively officiate,
coach and lead the teams through the competition. For some of the students it was their
second experience of leading at an inclusive inter-school competition and the feedback
received from schools was extremely positive. We would like to say a huge thank you to
Cardinal Wiseman for providing the sports leaders and hosting the competition.
