St. Martin’s ECW Executive Board Position Descriptions
The following are descriptions of the Executive Board positions on the ECW Board. The
Executive Committee positions are pre-selected by the Nominating Committee which
meets in January. Officers must be a member in good standing of St. Martin’s Episcopal
Church (baptized, confirmed, known to the Rector by active membership and known
to the treasurer by a financial pledge to the parish)Nominations for the Executive Board
are accepted until January 27, 2017. Submit on the Nomination Form to Ann Cochran
at [email protected] or leave in the church office at the reception desk in an
envelope to Ann Cochran, ECW Nominating Committee Chair and notify Ann that you
have done so.
Each position requires attendance and participation at monthly board meetings.
President
Represents ECW at events on the Church and Diocesan levels, recruits board for year of
term and oversees all activities for year of term, plans calendar for year of term, attends
Diocesan Retreat in mid-October, attends Vestry meetings as a non-voting member,
serves on outreach nominating and budget committees, submits reports on ECW
activities to the Vestry. President is chosen the prior year so that she can train for a year
as President-Elect. The President also serves as Past President/Parliamentarian the year
following her term. If you are interested in serving as President, please be aware this
commitment is for 3 years.
President-Elect
Assists President in her activities. Serves as a liaison to diocesan ECW and delegate to
the state diocesan retreat at Camp Allen. Serves on Outreach Committee. Serves on
Nominating and Budget Committees.
Treasurer
Works with Church business office to review all ECW financial reports and presents said
reports at the monthly board meetings. Monitors all payments for ECW events.
Responsible for check-out and payment processing at the Joy of Giving (JOG) Market.
Monitors budget to ensure that board stays fiscally responsible. Chairs finance
committee. The Treasurer is chosen the year prior to her term so that she may train for a
year as Treasurer-Elect. If you are interested in serving as Treasurer, please be aware
that this commitment is for 2 years.
Treasurer-Elect
Trains under Treasurer for one year. Assists Treasurer with check-out at the JOG Market.
Serves on the finance committee.
Corresponding Secretary
Obtains lists from Church office of members who have had a death in the family and
writes a letter of condolence to each one. Writes welcome notes to new members and
all thank-you notes on behalf of the ECW.
Recording Secretary
Takes notes at monthly board meetings and submits them for approval each month.
2017 ECW Officer Recommendation Form
The Episcopal Church Women of St. Martin’s will be accepting recommendations for 20172018 officers through January 27, 2017. Officers must be a member in good standing of
St. Martin’s Church (baptized, confirmed, known to the Rector by active membership and
known to the treasurer by a financial pledge to the parish). Recommend a friend; or if you
would like to be an officer, please feel free to recommend yourself. Completed forms may
be turned into the church office, attention Ann Cochran. You may also email your
recommendations to Ann at [email protected].
