2017 Minor B Division Rules
All Season
Level 5 balls will be used the entire season
Games are no more than 1.5 hours or 3 times through each batting order. No minimum inning
requirement.
If a game starts at 5:30, Visitors get use of the infield from 5-5:15. Home team from 5:15-5:30. Same
kind of thing applies to weekend games or other start times.
No score keeping
All players hit in the inning
Last batter runs all bases, play is at home
Ground rule doubles and home runs are in effect.
Coaches pitch overhand from a knee or siting on a bucket, please do not stand. Move closer or further
away from batter as necessary for batters skill level
If a player does not hit the ball in play, they take first base. No strike outs.
If a player is tagged out or forced out, they take a seat. Double plays are also in effect.
No bunting, leading off, or stealing. Sliding is acceptable (but not encouraged) as long as proper
technique has been taught by coaching staff.

First Half of Season
Coach pitch
Hitter and runner advance one base only on hit ball.
6 pitches per batter good or bad. Do not end the at bat with a foul ball.
Second Half of Season - Beginning April 23rd, 2017
3-player pitches per batter, 3-coach pitches per batter good or bad. If the pitcher is throwing strikes
let them complete the batter. Do not end the at bat with a foul ball.
Player pitchers start from the pitching rubber and are allowed to take 1-2 steps forward as necessary to
pitch strikes.
Players pitch a maximum of 1 inning per game. (3 innings would use 3 pitchers.)
Extra base hits are allowed second half of the season, but ONLY if it’s a clean hit. If it’s an error, the
batter and runner advance one base only.
Base runners may score from 2nd or advance from 1st to 3rd on a base hit but ONLY if it’s a clean hit to
the outfield. If it’s an error, the batter and runner advance one base only.
If the defensive team is having trouble getting the ball into the infield, keep it to one base.

g that not all players will pitch in games. It is
not fair to the batters if the pitcher is unable to get the ball to the plate and can make for a slow game.
With that said, the more players we can teach to pitch at this level will make for better baseball in future
years.
In order to speed up the game coaches can call a ball fair if a player hits the ball down the line just foul.
