How to choose appropriate next level approver
Faculty and Staff Position Descriptions / Hire Requests

If you report DIRECTLY to a Cabinet Administrator, Provost, or the Pierpont C&TC President, please submit
request to Cabinet/Provost/PC&TC President.
For example, Cindy Curry reports directly to Rick Porto who is a cabinet level administrator.
This is how the supervisory fields should appear prior to Cindy submitting a request to the next level approver:

Supervisor/Hiring Manager
Cindy Curry
Responsible Sr. Level Hiring Manager:
No response
If you do not report directly to a Cabinet Level Administrator, Provost or the Pierpont C&TC President, this
means you report to a “Sr. Level Hiring Manager.” Please make sure that the Sr. Level Hiring Manager’s
name appears on the request prior to submitting it. Otherwise, the approval process will be delayed.
For example, Maria Marshall does not report directly to a cabinet level administrator. She reports directly to Cindy
Curry and she reports directly to a cabinet level administrator (Rick Porto).
This is how the supervisory fields should appear prior to Maria submitting a request to the next level approver.

Responsible Sr. Level Hiring Manager: Cindy Curry

If the Supervisor/HM or the Sr. Level Hiring Manager of the position needs to be changed, you may make the
change by “arrowing back” the incorrect name and “arrowing over” the correct one. Please make this change prior
to submitting your request. Otherwise, the approval process will be delayed.
IMPORTANT:

Please do not assign yourself as the Supervisor/HM and the Sr. Level Hiring Manager.

Please do not assign more than one Supervisor/HM or Sr. Level Hiring Manager.
Note: You may still choose more than one Supervisor/HM on “temporary appointments for special program” or “adjunct hire”
actions.
