WHAT is Tekkie Tax?
Tekkie Tax is an annual fundraising campaign for 16 National welfare organisations representing
more than
1 500 local NGOs. They have all been divided into the following 5 sectors: Animals, Basic Family
Care, Children, Disability and Education.
There are 5 different stickers available so you can choose which sector you want to support when
giving your R10 donation.
Our HISTORY
The first Tekkie Tax campaign took place in 2013 and a whopping R2.4 million was raised. In 2014,
a total of 286 welfare organisations participated and with the help of thousands of supporters the
project
raised
R4.8 million! After a successful audit in October, all proceeds were distributed in November 2014.
Thanks to the support of thousands of companies and individuals, the campaign has raised a total of
R7.2 million and is becoming the most significant national fundraising campaign in SA.
