Patrice provided a brief on new model out of Sunshine,
includes regional registrar rotation, model of funding &
training money for registrars etc.
Action Patrice to gain permission to share the work as an
example for SW maternity working group (SWAMI).
Update next meeting
Action form a working party to develop a business case for
submission to DoH, benchmarked on Sunshine model

Discussion re review of completed documents housed on

All services have completed documents.
CAH document being finalised – currently in draft form.
Coroners recommendations post PDH case included
reference to document and highly recommend all rural
services implement this framework to manage clinical risk.

SWHC on site AN care, September / Oct. (Private / public
blended Model) as per the Greenwell Clinic, - located on the
current mid floor when mid moves to new unit. ? GP referral
for women attending clinic. Still finalising operational details.
No updates on CAH model this meeting.
MNCN lead – Improving maternity services for aboriginal
women. SWAMI has completed a proposal for mapping
continuity of maternity care includes KMS (Koori Maternity
Service), health service (intrapartum care) on going care
Action Lauren Update from MNCN leadership group re
funding allocation by next meeting
Pauline reported KMS to present at WDHS in next few weeks
Ami reported state funded review of KMS service has
commenced.
Pregnancy care workshop held in Warrnambool highly
successful ‘sell out’. Great effort and thanks to specialist
presenters & Chris for chairing the day.
Action (Lauren) evaluations / pre and post tests currently
being finalised. Report next meeting
Documents completed for regional M&M meeting; (accepted
at meeting) confidentiality / KPI template aligned to Mat
indicators.
Date to host meeting Wednesday 9th November 1600hrs –
2100hrs @ SW TAFE W’bool, cost $22.00 pp. date to be
confirmed during that week.
Emphasis on the importance on practioners to attend this
forum to maintain credentialing to provide pregnancy care.

Position vacancy 0.6 EFT. Lauren has accepted the position of
DON at TDHS commencing September 5th. Position advertised
Saturday August 6th. Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton
Action Sue SWHC – Regional centre holding funding for
program
Lauren & Kirsty Mitchell (SWHC) have completed facilitator
training for program. Program will be recognised as national
neonatal resus education program. Adult learning package &
quiz pre attending the education training. Scenario based
practical (3 hrs). Facilitated by NETS team. Cost is $50 per

service to link with the pre reading and quiz. Contact nets ed

Draft completed for additional funding to operate a regional
education program. Includes brief on professional links
rotations with Barwon Health / larger maternity hospitals.
MSOP - Funding Opportunity – education topics 1. Pregnancy
care / obstetric emergencies (MSEP), NeoResus ‘first
response training (NETS), CTG Surveillance (RANZCOG),
breastfeeding Ed (e learning package).
Action; next step to discuss opportunities with Barwon Health

Actions: Lauren will forward draft and questionnaire for
review & service feedback.

rotating form your service on professional links.
Peter reported work is slowly progressing. SWARH’S priority
focused on major changes with implementing TRACK system.
Eventually TRACK program will be the depository for
maternity episodes of care / admission, accessible to outlier
services. Timelines 3 – 4 months.

Open discussion attended ongoing group meetings following
