President
Presides at all meetings of the organization and of executive board; coordinates the
work of all the officers and committees in order; serves on the school advisory council;
serves ex-officio on all committees, except the nominating committee, ensures all
contracts and/or legally binding documents are approved by the PTO prior to signing;
serves as primary contact to the Principal.
Vice President
The Vice President acts as an aide to the President and performs the duties of the
president in their absence or inability to serve.
Secretary: Records the minutes of all meetings; is prepared to refer to minutes of
previous meetings when necessary; and record attendance of all PTO executive board
and general PTO meetings; communicates scheduled meetings to the membership.
Treasurer
Keeps an account of all receipts and expenditures; makes disbursements in accordance
with the approved budget, or as authorized by the organization; presents a treasurers
report at every meeting of the organization and at other times when requested by the
executive board; keeps an accurate membership roll for the organization; cooperates
with a full audit annually performed by an audit committee appointed by the executive
board; and completes or coordinates with an independent professional all necessary tax
forms required by any government agency, including required documents to ensure
compliance and maintenance of 501(c)(3) status.
Parliamentarian
The parliamentarian shall be knowledgeable about and enforce Roberts Rules of Order
at all meetings, advising the presiding officer on questions of parliamentary law and
matters of procedure.
Historian
The historian shall act as custodian for all records and other materials, including
photographs, pertinent to the history of the association and shall compile and keep a
record of current organization events and activities to be presented in the form of an
annual history.
Volunteer Coordinator
The volunteer coordinator shall coordinate volunteers for PTO and most other school
events.
