Proposed role of FN3K as a catalyst in the decomposition of FL. Phosphorylation of FL to FL3P
destabilizes the fructose-lysine linkage and leads to a spontaneous decomposition of FL to
lysine, inorganic phosphate (Pi), and 3DG.
