Instructions
1. Transfer this plan to the 71/2" x 10" illustration board using pinholes and light pencil.
2. With transparent acrylic lay down the amount of solid yellow you will need. Next, in progressively thinned glazes make the
transition from white to yellow.
3. Next lay down the amount of red in thinned glazes to make the transition from yellow to red. Do the same thing from yellow
to green, then cyan, blue and violet. Note: You will NOT make red by painting magenta over yellow, mix up red and paint it
over yellow. Likewise mix up green paint for the green parts, blue paint for the blue parts, violet for the violet. No colors should
be made with white. Transitions from two colors, such as between green and cyan, should NOT become weak and lighter in
the middle. Transitions should be full strength. Do not use masking tape around shapes on this or any project, paint all edges freehand.
4. Last lay down the black on the two ends. Black is a very potent pigment and needs to begin quite diluted.
5. Do not use masking tape around shapes on this or any project, paint all edges freehand.
6. Put a tissue flap on the board with your name for submission. Due at the beginning of next class.
