ANTRIM AND NEWTOWNABBEY BOROUGH COUNCIL

RULES AND REGULATIONS
NB. The term “Customers” refers to all individuals staying in motorhomes,
caravans or tents.
1. As this is a touring site, Customers are permitted to stay for a maximum of 7
nights.
2. Electric hook up is for caravans only and no other equipment can be connected
to it - the Council will disconnect the electricity supply if it used for any other
purpose
3. Grey water from sinks & showers must be disposed of at the 2 grey waste water
disposal points indicated on the map (opposite reception and beside pitch 27).
Black waste from chemical toilets must only be disposed of in the Sluice Room at
the Caravan Park Building.
4. Customers must leave the site by 12 noon on day of departure or an additional
night will be charged.
5. No tent or caravan may be used for sleeping more than the number of people it
was designed for. All equipment, such as gas & electrical appliances and
camping gear must comply with Government regulations and all safety
requirements.
6. The sites are provided for holiday purposes only, and may not be used as a base
for traders, dealers or contractors. Vehicles, items of equipment and any other
property construed as being trade associated will be refused access to the site.
No trading will be permitted on site.
7. Customers must ensure the entrance and exit gates and door of the facility block
and Lough Shore Park are closed after use. Please do not admit anyone onto the
site without an access card.
8. Customers shall not at any time, make any noise which will cause annoyance or
disturb other users of the site. Noise of any kind between 10pm and 8am will
result in prosecution by Council’s Enforcement Section.
9. Customers shall be responsible for any loss or damage caused by them and their
property (e.g. car or caravan), to any of the Council’s property or equipment and
to other users’ property. The breakage of any fixture or fitting must be reported to
staff. The cost of repair or replacement of any damaged property will be
recoverable from the person responsible.
10. Temporary clothes lines are not permitted in the Park or clothes are not permitted
to be hung between caravans, tents or vehicles or trees
11. All dogs must be kept under control, whilst on site, and on a short lead.
Excessive barking will not be tolerated. If dog fouling occurs it must be cleared
up immediately and placed in the bins provided. Pets are not permitted in any
building. Failure to comply with these regulations will result in enforcement action
being taken by Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council.
12. Open fires of any description are not permitted.
13. Please ensure that all household waste is sorted and deposited in the relevant
recycling bins located within the site. Non-recyclables must be placed in the
general waste bins provided.
14. Customers must not repair or dismantle any caravan or vehicle without Council
permission.
15. Customers must observe all instructions from Council and Caravan Park staff
(including the movement of vehicles, caravans/tents) as well as information
notices on display.
16. Customers must not sell, assign or sub-let their right to keep a caravan/tent at
the site. This site is for personal use only.
17. No ball games are allowed between camping pitches/hard stands.
18. Customers must comply with all bye-laws relating to the Lough Shore Park.
19. Any article found on the site must be handed into an onsite member of staff. At
the end of the season unclaimed property will be disposed of.
20. No caravan/tent may bear any form of advert, drawing, poster, emblem or slogan
other than the manufacturer's name plates or transfers. No posters, pamphlets,
bills or advertisements are allowed to be placed in the Facility.
21. Vehicles must adhere to a speed limit of 5 mph and be driven carefully at all
times. Only fully licensed, insured drivers may drive in the Park. Customers
failing to comply with this regulation will be asked to leave the site and could face
prosecution.
22. Children (under 16) must not be left unattended at any time. Parents are asked
to supervise children properly so that they conduct themselves in an acceptable
manner and are not a danger to themselves or others.
23. Children are not permitted in the TV Lounge or Games Room unless
accompanied by an adult. Children should be supervised when entering and leaving
the Facilities and customers should take all other reasonable precautions for the
safety of their children in accordance with all current applicable legislation.
24. Customers, whose name appears on the booking form will be held solely
responsible for the actions of those in his/her party whether staying onsite or visiting.
25. Customers asked to leave the site shall remove their caravan/tent from the park
immediately and forfeit amount paid. Failure to do so will entitle Council
remove/store any such caravan/tent. Costs involved will be recovered by Council.
Council shall not be liable for injury, damage or loss caused to any such item or its
contents during its removal/storage.
26. Customers must keep their pitch and facilities in a clean and tidy condition during
their stay.
27. The Amenity Block is a No Smoking facility.
28. No intoxicating liquor or other alcoholic refreshments of any kind should be
consumed in the Facility Block. No person under the influence of alcohol or drugs
shall be admitted to the Facility and Caravan Park staff will expel any drunken or
disorderly person from the Facility.
29. All customers should show courtesy, respect and consideration at all times to
other customers. Excessive noise, bad language, unruly and intimidating behaviour
will not be tolerated.
30. Customers must adhere to the opening times of the TV Lounge and Games
Room on display in reception.
31. No illegal substances or offensive weapons may be brought onto the Park. All
items deemed to be offensive weapons will be confiscated.
32. Antrim Borough Council reserve the right to refuse access to campers who have:
- breached site rules & regulations
- contravened the local bye-laws
- previously been asked to vacate the site
- previously been refused entry to the site
33. Persons who are not authorised by the Council will not be permitted to stay on
the site.
34. Full payment will be required at time of booking.
35. All injuries and accidents must be reported to Caravan Park Staff immediately
who will record details in the accident report forms.
36. All customers must comply with the rules and regulations contained in this
leaflet. Failure to do so will result in appropriate action being taken:
- verbal warning from Council staff
- formal written notice to leave the site
- refusal of future bookings
- formal report made to the Police
Action taken will reflect the nature and severity of an incident and may not be carried
out in the order above.
37. All customers must comply with the booking conditions which are available online
or from Caravan Park Staff.
These site rules are not exclusive and exhaustive. Antrim and Newtownabbey
Borough Council reserve the right to remove any persons from the site at any time
where they believe their behaviour and or actions are causing annoyance or offence
to other persons using the site.
Customer Comments/ Complaints
Should you encounter any problems or have any queries during your stay, the
Caravan Park Staff will be pleased to be of assistance. We welcome your comments
and suggestions – please complete the form ‘Your Views Matter’ from Reception and
return it to a member of staff.
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council take seriously its responsibility for the
safety and security of its staff and visitors to the site.
