Request for Service form

Hello,
Thanks very much for your interest in the Altmetric Explorer for Institutions platform!
We’d love to talk with your organisation about access options, and would be happy to provide them
with more information or a custom demo.
To help get things started we ask that you let your organization know that you’re interested.
You can do that by submitting the below request for service form to the appropriate person or group.
This might be someone in the library, research or scholarly communications office, or even your
department head.
Once you’ve let them know of your interest, please do let us know too so we can follow up.
Next steps
1. Fill out the form on page 2 of this document, and send it on or hand it to the appropriate
person at your organization.
2. Email us at [email protected] to let us know that you’re interested – it would also be helpful if
you can include the name and contact details of the person you sent the request to.
3. If you have friends and colleagues who would also like to see Altmetric at your institution,
please forward this Request for Service to them so they can do the same!
Thanks again for your interest. We look forward to hearing from you and discussing the best solution
for your organisation!
Kind regards,
Catherine Williams

REQUEST FOR SERVICE
I would like to submit a request for the Altmetric Explorer for
Institutions platform
What is Altmetric?
Altmetric is a data science company that tracks the online attention surrounding research outputs.
This includes mentions and references to journal articles, books, dissertations and theses, images,
datasets, and other non-traditional outputs.
Altmetric badges, tools and data are already in use amongst many world-leading research
organisations and funders.
What sources of attention are tracked?
Thousands of online sources are monitored in real-time to collate mentions and references to
published research outputs. These sources include public policy documents, a global list of
mainstream media news outlets, Wikipedia, blogs, social media, Mendeley, Faculty of 1000 Prime,
and the Scopus citation database.
Benefits of Explorer for Institutions
Access to the Explorer for Institutions platform would provide our organisation with:



Real-time updates on the online attention surrounding our research – making it easier to
see at the institutional, departmental, group and author level how our research is being
received and interpreted by policy makers, practitioners, community interest groups and the
general public.
Valuable insights for faculty of all disciplines – evidence of broader engagement and
potential future impacts which can be used to better demonstrate the value of our work to
funders, tenure and review committees, and alumni groups.
Access to attention and citation data for over 6 million other research outputs from
around the world – meaning we can identify trending content in specific fields, and see how
the attention surrounding our research compares with that of other institutions’.
To receive more information or a custom demo from Altmetric, you can contact them at
