The Y.Q platform monitors and controls real-time
operation of the Y.Station, ensuring seamless
performance of each facility. Based on advanced
IoT technology, Y.Q provides a single architecture
for controlling multiple facility elements and
communicating with external SCADA systems.
MODULAR AND
SCALABLE
Y.Station scales to ensure that the same design
efficiencies are captured from a few MWs to many
tens of MWs. Each Y.Station block can be replicated
as project sizes increase, continuously optimising
for minimal footprint and auxiliary power needs.

centre staff controls all of our deployments around
the clock. They are ready to take immediate communication and remedial actions in case of any
event disrupting system operations.
Y.STATION
PRE-DESIGNED BUILDING SOLUTION
Drawn from our experience building some of the industry’s
first utility-scale energy storage systems, the Y.Station is
our solution for larger storage projects.
It is pre-designed and pre-engineered to deliver optimised
system layout and minimise system losses, enabling
efficient project planning and faster project deplo
yment.
This modular design gives Y.Station greater flexibility in
terms of power and energy capacity, with the ability to
scale to several MW of power and several hours of duration.
Each Y.Station block can be replicated as the project size
increases, offering continued optimisation for minimal
footprint and auxiliary power needs.
Y.Q software platform
Deploying real-time responses within milliseconds, our
software supports simultaneous performance of multiple
control modes. Settings and modes can be configured
remotely via a secure web-based user interface.
Battery technology
The Y.Station consists of several AC batteries. Each AC
battery is a string of DC batteries coupled to a converter.
Thanks to extensive testing, we can recommend the most
suitable battery technology and manufacturer for every
power/energy ratio.
Best-in-class converter technology
We have selected and qualified power conversion technology that ideally meets the requirements of storage applications and blends in perfectly with all other components of
the system. The result is unmatched speed of response and
best-in-class performance.
Thermal management system
Our sophisticated thermal management system ensures
fewer parasitic losses and slower battery degradation,
while also maintaining PCS hardware within optimal
operating conditions.
Fire suppression
We deliver the highest degree of security by implementing
state-of-the-art fire suppression systems. In most cases,
we install a fully automated CO2-extinguishing system,
always guaranteeing the safety of staff and visitors on
site first.

generation source, giving you twice the flexibility as a power plant on the same interconnection.
Y.Station offers a set of services to integrate fluctuating renewables smoothly and efficiently. That adds
resilience to your grid, helping you to reduce conventional generation and achieve your emission targets.
In addition, Y.Station opens up new revenue streams for your business by making it possible to sell ancillary
services or benefit from energy arbitrage.
Last but not least, Y.Station is the key to deferred or avoided investments in grid reinforcement. It reduces
the stress on your infrastructure, for example, by smoothing demand or controlling integration of variable
renewable resources.
EXAMPLES OF APPLICATIONS
Ramp Rate control
Grids cannot easily absorb large variations from renewable generation.
Battery storage “smooths” the PV plant and strengthens the grid by
providing critical system services to buffer the impact of fluctuating
power demand and supply.
Dispatchable PV
Large-scale PV plants receive lower payments for output during the
sunniest hours. Y.Station shifts PV generation into the evening peak and
can also be dispatched to offset rapid output changes in PV generation
caused by shading and add reliability to grid operations.
Frequency response
The instantaneous differences between supply and demand cause
deviations from nominal frequency. This is due to intermittent power
generation, unpredictable loads or an unexpected failure of a power
station. Y.Station can regulate grid frequency within milliseconds
through charging or discharging short bursts of power.
Peaking capacity
By implementing Y.Station at a critical grid location, utilities can handle
peak loads that would have otherwise been served by peaker plants.
While allowing more renewable generation into the grid, Y.Station
reduces carbon emissions and is much more flexible than a peaker plant.
