How to activate a gift card??
There are two different type of gift cards. One that charge an activation fee & the other one that simply do
not charges any type of fees. So the activation of the gift cards will be different.
American express, visa & master card
charges activation fees. And as you can see
this card does not have a UPC number.
Under the barcode get the first 10
numbers (STARTING WITH THE 767500….)
GameStop, Macys, Toy”R”Us & ect.
(INCLUDING THE FOODTOWN GIFT
CARDS)Now those don’t charge any type of
fees. And they already have an UPC
number at the corner of the card

Now using the PLU MAINTANCE scan the card or type the number or press new if the card is not in the
system . the department must be in 96- 3rd party gift cards (EXCEPT THE FOODTOWN GIFT CARD THAT ONE
GOES ON DEPARTMENT 97- GIFT CARDS) If the gift card has an activation fee you must type on the linked
item code one of codes from the chart below depending the fee. Now press form 2 and select gift card at the
atributes information. Select save.
