HADDON TOWNSHIP’S GREEN TEAM GET’S FRESH…and gives local residents plenty of food for thought! On Monday evening, Haddon Township residents, as well as residents from surrounding communities, came out to the Township’s new Historic and Environmental Center located on E. Ormond Avenue to view FRESH. FRESH “celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system.” The film discusses the transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronts the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, the film offers a practical vision for the future of our food and our planet. The viewing of FRESH, was presented by the Township’s Sustainable Jersey Green Team. After the film, residents engaged in thoughtful discussion about the complex issues revolving around food production and consumption in the United States. LOOKING TO GET FRESH?
