How to measure intensity using Image J
From the NAL select Image J ( WCIF icon ) .The software takes a long time to open. Do not be
tempted to double click on the icon again as multi image J pages will open.
The programme then opens two windows.

Select File | Open | and choose the image you want to look at.

Using the selection tools draw a region around the area you wish to measure.

Select Analyze | Measure from the top menu. ( Move the region to the next area you with to
measure and repeat the process.)
The results are now displayed in the result window. The mean is the average intensity of the
pixels in the area you measured. By selecting Analyse | Set Measurements you can select the
results that you wish to display.

To save Select File | Save as from the Result window menu. This can then be opened in excel.
