MEMBERSHIP
For faculty with active participation in conducting basic, translational, clinical or populationbased cardiovascular research and have recent cardiovascular-related publications in peerreviewed journals, actively participate in a CCVR research program or other CCVR
activities and are primary users of CCVR-sponsored shared resources. Research members
are the major focus of descriptions in training grant applications and applicants for shared
instruments as well as center, program project or other major proposals. To apply for
Research Membership, an individual must be one of the following:

ASSOCIATE
MEMBERSHIP
-
A principal investigator (PI), multiple PI investigator, or Co-PI on a peerreviewed, cardiovascular relevant funded research grant
A principal investigator or an investigator-initiated cardiovascular clinical trial,
while accruing a minimum of five patients to clinical trials per year
A principal investigator who is a leader of a national cooperative group clinical
trial, while accruing a minimum of five patients to clinical trials per year
A principal investigator on a local cooperative group trial or industry-initiated
trial who accrues a minimum of five patients to clinical trials per year
Junior investigators, including non-faculty investigators (such as post-doc
trainees, non-tenure track assistant professors, research associates, instructors
and other clinical staff actively involved in the research enterprise) with a
cardiovascular research interest and/or significant involvement
Full time clinical faculty providing patient care and trail accrual but not involved
in initiating their own research activities
Tenured University of Illinois faculty who mayor may not have extramural
funding in other research areas but are interested in transitioning their research
from another field into cardiovascular research
