Fire Chariots - Player Manual
Introduction
The simulation program’s output is a *.ffs file, which contain the full details of the
simulation (fire status, agents’ positions, agents’ communication etc’).
After one runs the simulation and has the output *.ffs file, one can `play` this file,
using the simulation files player.
Starting the Player
The player can be started by executing the file “Player1.exe”.
After executing this file we’ll see this splash screen:
Notice that the name
“Fire Chariots” is derived
from the problem we
chose to solve using the
gossip algorithms.
I.E – extinguishing fires
that break in the world,
using maneuverable
agents.

Main Menu
All the options in the menu are
reachable through the buttons and
edit boxes also.
Select File – allows you to select the
simulation file you want to play.
“Show 1 turn” edit box – allows
you to ask the player to show 1 out
of every X frames.
“Play X turns” edit box – allows
you to control the presentation speed.
“Start playing from” edit box – allows you to start the presentation from anywhere
within the simulation, and not necessary the beginning.
Start – start the presentation.
Get Details – opens a window that shows
the details of this simulation:
Presentation Window
Turn number – the turn number
Score – the score (lower = better)
Start \ Pause – toggle between playing and pausing
Close – end the presentation
Intercom – allows you to see the agents communicating
(Notice – since the world is cyclic, agents from the
opposite ends of the screen are actually very close)
(Notice – there might be a bug in early versions of the
player, which show agents communicating along
great distances, although there are actually not
communicating)
Playing speed – control the presentation speed
Turn out of – same as in the main menu window
Agent size – controls the size of the agents appear on the
screen. Changing this will NOT effect the simulation itself
(fighting fire etc’), but only on the size of the agents
Running the Simulation
After pressing the start button the simulation will start to run:
Little starts – the agents
Black lines – the
communication between
the agents
Red cloud – the fire
