Tennis for Everyone
Member’s
Quick Guide
version 1.01
WELCOME TO CTC!
CTC welcomes you on being a member of Clubview Tennis Club. We trust that you will feel
at home and enjoy being part of our tennis family. We invite you to enjoy your tennis in a
fun and happy atmosphere.
Situated in the heart of Clubview, within a public park area, Clubview Tennis Club (CTC) is
quiet, away from traffic and yet easily accessible from the N1 highway and Old
Johannesburg Road.
CTC offers Tennis for Everyone, no matter the level of playing ability. In addition, CTC
offers professional tennis coaching for those wanting to improve their tennis and for the
more competitive tennis player.
We welcome players of all ages and from all sections of the community. CTC maintains a
balance between social and competitive play as each member has a special quality to offer
at CTC.
PLAYING TIMES AND CLUBHOUSE HOURS
While members are welcome to play at all times, there are a number of activities at the club,
both during the week and weekend, which take priority.
At the following times, there is organised social play for members:


Wednesday: From 18:00 until we run out of players.
Saturday: From 13:00 until late afternoon. Full members may participate.
There is no need to make an appointment or organise anything. Just arrive and participate.
A member of the Management Committee will be present and assist in setting up playing
teams and answer any questions you may have.
During the week and on Saturday mornings some of the courts are reserved for coaching.
Other courts are available to all members on a first come, first serve (pun intended) basis.
The club is looking at implementing a court booking system in the near future.
During Saturday league, there is reduced social tennis activity but at least one of the courts
will be available for social play. If you are not participating in the league, please still join us
for social tennis.
The clubhouse (with bathroom facilities) will be open during official club activities and
generally also when coaching is taking place.
Please visit the CTC website for more detail about the weekly schedule, availability of courts
and planned activities such as league, other competitions and fun days.
ACCESS
Members gain access to the club grounds via a vehicle or pedestrian gate.
The vehicle gate is controlled via a mobile system. If you have not been given access and
instructions, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
Access via the pedestrian gate is via a key, which also provides access to the 5 courts.
One key fits all our courts. A once off payment of R30 is added to your invoice for a court
key. The court key will be available for collection from the club. If you have not received a
key yet, please contact [email protected] for assistance.
Please ensure that courts are locked when finished playing and before you leave.
LIGHTS
There are two courts under lights. Members may play on these courts, provided booking
procedures are followed, at no cost.
BALLS
The club has a partnership with Dunlop who provides the tennis balls to the club and we are
therefore able to supply new balls for club social on a Saturday afternoon and for all our
league matches.
Wednesday evening social has an allocation of new balls and from time to time will also use
good used tennis balls.
For all other play, members are requested to provide their own balls. We do not lend out
balls at all.
Balls in containers in the clubhouse are the property of the coaches and not available to
members except under the supervision of the relevant coach.
VISITORS
We welcome visitors to the club.
There is a R30 visitor’s fee.
Members are allowed one visitor on weekdays, free of charge. For more than one visiting
player, a fee of R30 per visitor will be charged.
Non-members get 2 free Saturday afternoon visits, thereafter they need to either join the
club or pay the visitor’s fee.
JUNIORS
The future of any tennis club lies in the hand of the youth.
Our Junior Club is very important to the club and we look to cater for all playing levels by
incorporating the red, orange and green tennis ball players along with those playing with the
formal tennis ball.
The Junior Club runs on a Saturday morning and interested parties can contact Erick de
Jager (Junior Club Co-ordinator) on 084-815-7997 for further information.
