Accurate Flexible Numerical Boundary Conditions for Multidimensional Transport and Diffusion
Denis Filatov. He obtained a Master’s Degree in applied mathematics from Moscow State Geological
Prospecting Academy (MGRI-MGGA) in 1999. In 2004 he defended his Ph.D. thesis having obtained a
Doctor’s Degree in computer science from the Centre for Computing Research (CIC) of the National
Polytechnic Institute (IPN), Mexico. Member of the National System of Researchers (SNI) of Mexico. His
fields of interest include lineal and nonlinear fluid dynamics, numerical methods for PDEs, mathematical
modelling with applications to environmental problems, and related disciplines.
Prof., Dr. Mikhail Alexandrov. He is a specialist in the field of numerical methods for partial
differential equations with applications to atmospheric sciences. Research professor at the Centre for
Computing Research (CIC) of the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), Mexico. Leader of a series of
scientific projects of the CONACyT (National Council on Science and Technics) and CGPI-IPN on
numerical modelling in environment and ecology. Author of a large number of papers and tutorials for
M.Sc. and Ph.D. students.
Prof., Dr. Sc. Mikhail Yudin. He is a famous specialist in mathematical modelling of
electromagnetic fields in inhomogeneous media. He has developed a number of modifications of the
Schwarz alternating method for numerical solution to primal multidimensional problems of geoelectrics;
suggested effective computational schemes incorporated in the finite element method taking into account
the character of the solution’s behaviour in spatial directions. Software developed at his scientific group
is utilised for highly accurate modelling in various educational and industrial centres in Russia and
Europe. Author of more than 60 scientific papers including four books and a monograph.
