We hope you all had a fabulous summer.
We are all so excited to get started on the
2016-2017 Season, which is also our 10th anniversary season!
The staff is looking forward to working with everyone! I would
also like to extend a huge welcome home to
Laurence and Francois.

Our website is a great way to stay informed. You will find
everything you need here including newsletters, competition
schedules, and a link to the studio e-mail. We will have a monthly
newsletter that will go home with the dancers. Please make sure
you keep up to date on information. These dance years go fast!!
FACEBOOK GROUP
Please make sure everyone joins our Facebook group! It is a
private group and you will need to request to join. This is where
our daily, convenient communication happens and will keep you
up to date on everything. It also allows for quick communication
between one another and keeps everyone in the loop!!
Please make sure you have a way to check this page. Don’t miss
out on important information!!
MONTHLY FEES
All monthly fees should be set up at the front desk by post dated
cheques or pre-authorized credit card payments. A payment plan
is mandatory in order to confirm your child’s registration. If you
wish to change your method of payment, you may do so before
the 25th of every month.
Payments should be set up as soon as possible. Any account that
does not have payments set up, will be charged a service fee.
Please see the front desk to set up your account.
CLASS ATTIRE
Please ensure you are in proper attire for all classes. If you are
unsure of what the requirements are, check with your teachers or
the front desk.
Hair should be securely tied back for all classes.
No outdoor shoes will be allowed in the studios. Please make sure
you have indoor runners for all hip hop classes.
Attire requirements can be found on the website, Facebook page
and the front desk. ‘And all that Jazz’ will also have our
requirements list.
LARGE GROUPS
Robin, Vince, and Jen are really excited about the Large groups
this year!
If you are unsure of what you can join, please ask your teacher.
We can’t wait to get started!!
Large Tap Group
minimum requirements: Grade 3 tap 2nd year
Saturdays 10:00-11:00
Large Junior Lyrical Group
minimum requirements: Junior 5 jazz
Saturdays 11:00-11:45
Large Junior Jazz Group
minimum requirements: Junior 5 jazz
Saturdays 11:45-12:45
Large Senior Jazz Group
minimum requirement: Int 2 jazz
Saturday’s 12:45-1:30
Large Senior Lyrical Group
Minimum requirement: Int 2 jazz
Saturday’s 1:30-2:15
Large Senior Contemporary Group
Minimum requirement: Int 2 jazz
Saturday’s 2:15-3:00
Large Hip Hop Group
minimum requirements: pre-Intermediate and Advanced classes
Saturday 3:15-4:15
Please do not join these groups if you cannot make a 100%
commitment. Attendance is of great importance and is required.
Pricing will be $150.00 per group due by October 1st.
(*please note costume and competition fees not included)
We will start Large Groups Saturday September 17th!
STUDIO ETIQUETTE
Studio Etiquette is something that is very important to us.
Conduct yourself in a sportsmanlike manner at all times. Set a
good example of respecting and acknowledging the abilities and
efforts of other dancers, as well as trusting the decisions made by
the Artistic Director and staff.
Please lead by example.
Negativity or disrespect of any kind will not be tolerated.
COMPETITIONS
We will again be participating in 4 regular competitions, and 1 hip
hop competition. AE is on spring break this year, so we will not be
taking part.
Dance Power #1
March 7th-12th
Classes Junior 3 and up will participate
Competition #2- TBA
April 11th-15th
Classes Junior 3 and up will participate
Dance Power #2
April 25th-30th
All choreography classes will participate
Represent Dance Competition
May 11th-13th
Select Hip Hop classes will participate
CanDance- Red Deer
May 18th-21st
Junior 3 and up will participate
We will be travelling to Red Deer this year. I do not believe hotels will
be necessary, but we will figure out more when we know dates.
All classes Junior 3 Jazz and up will be participating in 4 competitions.
Primary 5 years, Junior 1, Junior 6 classes will take part in 2
competitions.
Hip Hop- select classes will in addition, take part in Represent. We will
inform you at a later date.
Beginner Hip Hop classes- We will decide if we take part in any
competitions at a later date
If you have any further questions regarding competitions, please do not
hesitate to ask the front desk or Jen.
VIP CONVENTION CALGARY
We will again be attending the VIP Convention! It is held in Calgary
October 1st and 2nd.
Registration needs to be in asap!! They are holding spot for us as it
is filling quickly, so don’t miss out!
The studio will need to fill out your registration this year. If you
plan on going, please let us know and we will get you all set.
We will chat about hotels and where everyone would prefer to
stay, however you are free to book where you would like. The
convention is held at the Calgary Stampede BMO Center.
TEACHERS and STAFF
The teachers are all eager and excited to get started!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate
to ask Jen, or your teacher.
Rebecca and Robin will be at the front desk ready to assist you.
PAYMENT DATES
Please remember payment deadlines for costume fees and
competition fees.
Costume fees are due by October 15th,
and Competition fees are due by November 15th.
Large groups will be due by October 1st.
BALLET ACCOMPNIAMENT
We are very excited to have the opportunity to add a pianist for
our Wednesday ballet classes with Laurence. Jonathan Hill will be
joining us to play the piano for these classes! Anyone in the
classes will owe a small accompaniment fee. We will let you know
the exact cost per month once we have all class participants
ironed out.
STAND UP FOR LOVE
We will be taking part in the benefit show ‘Stand up for Love’ on
September 18 at 6pm at Festival Place. UPTOWN FUNK will be the
number we have in this show! We will let you know when we plan
on running a rehearsal to get this number back in shape for the
show!
STUDIO CLOTHING ORDERS
We will be placing all studio clothing orders at the end of
September. We will be going with a new company this year and we
are very excited for the new items and new look! We will have the
order forms out within the next week!!
PARENTS ASSOCIATION
We are very excited to have formed a parent’s association.
Please see attached newsletter for more information and
registration. This association will greatly help our families and
dancers in their dance futures!!
Thank you to the moms and dads who have helped us form the
association!

season. It is going to be an amazing

10 Anniversary season! We have so many fantastic things planned
for the future, including a Disney World 2018 trip!!
Let’s work hard, have tons of fun, and make this a season to

EXTRA CHOREOGRAPHY
Please let your teacher know if you are interested in solos,
duos/trios or small groups, and we will inform you if an extra
number is possible.
Due to the amount of extra choreography, please be aware that
this is a request and extra Choreography is at the teacher’s
discretion.
All requests must be in by
September 30th.
Pricing will be as follows:
Solo - $300.00
Duet/Trio - $250.00 each
All extra choreography should be paid directly to the teacher
and is due on the first rehearsal.
