The Traffic Light Box Artworks Project Selection Process 1. The selection process will aim to ensure high-quality artistic content. 2. The Selection Committee will have the final decision on content. 3. Submissions will be reviewed with regard to Content, Quality, Appropriateness to location, Durability, Added value, Materials 4. The Winning Entrant will be informed by the Area Public Domain Officer and proposal published on line 5. The Selection Committee will be chaired by the Area Public Domain Officer or a nominee from the Area Office and may be made up of a representative from; DCC Arts Office Area Planning Team Traffic Dept Dublin City Beta Area Office and A representative of Local Business, Community Representative and a. n. other as nominated by the Area Office Criteria 1. The materials and methods used to apply the art should be suitable for providing a quality finish for 12 months. 2. The artwork will be required to be renewed/replaced/removed at minimum intervals of 12 months and maximum intervals of 24 months. 3. Materials should be detailed for approval as part of the application/ proposal process including preparation or priming of boxes. 4. Proposals can include any other relevant information. 5. The content shall have no commercial or branding references. 6. The content shall have no political, religious or racist content or any material which may be offensive to any member of the community. 7. Installations shall be artwork and agreed in advance. 8. No paint or work shall impede the opening or access to the boxes as required for general maintenance. 9. Artists are responsible for taking all necessary health and safety measures for the installation phase. 10. Dublin City Council reserves the right to paint out artwork without explanation. 11. The Project allows for the content to change subject to the conditions set out here and in conjunction with the selection process. 11. Each box will carry information giving a point of contact for the scheme. 12. A participating Artist may sign his/her work including contact information which shall be no larger in size than A4. 13. No installations shall be within an Area of Architectural Conservation or within the curtilage of a Protected Structure.
