Disabled Guest Parking ENTER GATE 1

Guests with Disabilities Infineon Raceway
Disabled Guest Parking
ENTER GATE 1
Disabled guests must have all of the following to be able to park in raceway handicap lots:
• Disabled placard or special identification license plate
• Disabled identification card
• Driver’s license or photo ID matching the name of the disabled guest on the identification
card
Once at Gate 1, guests will need to merge to the far right entry lane. From there they will be
directed to the Lower or Upper Tenant areas. The Lower shops are parked first followed by the
Upper shops. Space is left in the Lower shops throughout the day for wheelchair customers.
Disabled guests must enter Gate 1 or they will not be checked-in and given wristbands. If staff
sees a guest with a placard entering Gates 7 or 9, they should redirect the guest to enter
Gate 1. Disabled guests, who park in remote lots, and not the designated handicap lots, will not
be provided with the proper level of service. This is advertised on the website, in Fan Guides and
on highway changeable message signs.
Sonoma County Sheriff Officers will be checking for the appropriate credentials and writing
tickets to those using faulty placards.

Disabled Guest Check-In & Wristband Policy
Guests with valid identification and placards are checked-in and parked by raceway staff. Once
parked, guests are issued wristbands. Wristbands are separated daily by color and location
parked. The Lower shop parking area has a different color each day that is different from the
wristband used in the Upper shop parking area. During exiting, when the demand for service is
high, the different color wristbands help staff direct guests to the appropriate parking area.
In total, Infineon Raceway staff use six different color wristbands during an event weekend.

Solid versus Striped Wristbands
Solid color wristbands are issued to the disabled guest and one accompanying individual. If there
are additional people in the group (family members or friends), those guests are issued striped
wristbands.
When the demand for service is high, raceway staff will give priority service to guests with solid
wristbands.
Wristband Access
With a wristband guests can access the elevator in the grandstand. Guests with handicap
wristbands can also catch a shuttle from one of the pick-up/drop-off tents.
Pick-Up/Drop-Off Tents
Pick-Up/Drop-Off tents serve as shuttle stops for disabled guests. Tents are located near all
major seating areas and are identified with blue and white-striped tents and signage.
When disabled guests arrive at the raceway and park, staff checks tickets to find out where their
seats are located. From the parking area, guests are taken to the pick-up/drop-off tent nearest to
their seating area. At any time disabled guests may go to a pick-up/drop-off tent to catch a shuttle
to other seating or vendor areas.

How do we accommodate guests that do not have handicap placards, but are on crutches,
walking with canes, etc?
Guests who don’t have handicap placards, but who are clearly disabled (broken bones, sore
backs, etc) should be given a white elevator wristband. The elevator wristbands are available at
Guest Services, the Ticket Pit Stop and at Suite Check-In and allow guests to use the grandstand
elevator.
During exiting, when these guests need to get back to their cars and are unable to walk
comfortably or wait in long lines, a raceway representative behind the grandstand (Annette
Musson and crew) will hold the guests until a staff member is available on a golf cart
(ticketing/marketing staff). Ticketing and Marketing staff should be shuttling families with
strollers and guests with canes, crutches, etc back to their cars.

Guidebook for Guests with Disabilities
For the 2009 season raceway staff will create a handout called the Guidebook for Guests with
Disabilities. The guidebook will inform disabled guests of raceway services and identify the
pick-up/drop-off locations (on a large map of the raceway). The guidebook will also feature a
tear-off comment card so guests can provide feedback for the program.
Guidebooks will be available at Disabled Guest Check-In and at all Infineon Raceway
Information Centers.
