Session theme and description:
Theme: Random 1v1 Turning Games
Age Group: U8-U10
Objectives:
• 
Offer different enjoyable,
competitive games that encourage
turning when 1v1
• 
Plant ideas and encourage
creativity
Turn mannequin and 1v1
SSG – 1v1 in wide areas
Rules: Two 1v1 games set up to one goal
•  Midfielder plays in to attacker who
turns the mannequin.
•  Once attacker takes first touch,
defender can defend
•  Attacker to beat defender and shoot
at goal
•  Defender to win ball and counter to
open goal
•  Rotate teams after a set amount of
time
Receive, turn and 1v1
Rules:
• 
4v4 game with neutrals in the
channels
• 
Wide players can not leave the wide
areas but ONE defender can enter
at any time
• 
No more than one defender can
enter wide channel and no
supporting attack can enter the
wide channel
SSG – 1v1 in final third
Rules:
•  Midfielder has three touches to step
in then find a forward – they may
pass to either forward
•  Nearest defender presses the ball
once midfielder passes
•  Attacker receiving under light
pressure, turns and then attacks
1v1
•  Rotate teams after a set amount of
time
