Details
American Stage Improv is expanding! Calling all potential House Team players and Indie Improv
Teams for House Teams Live! Season 2017-2018.
What is House Teams Live!?
Professional Improv. At American Stage.
Gavin Hawk & Ricky Wayne, co-founders of American Stage Improv, have been performing as
Hawk & Wayne at American Stage for almost a decade. Last season, we expanded our improv
shows to include House Teams of advanced improvisers trained via ASI.
Next season, (September 2017 - August 2018), ASI shows will expand even more, from 2 House
Teams to 4 House Teams!
Typically, shows will run on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Sundays each month at 7pm.
Hawk & Wayne will continue to perform on 1st Sundays.
On 2nd and 3rd Sundays, 3 teams will perform: An Indie Team will do a 15-minute opening set,
followed by 2 ASI House Teams, each with a 25-minute set.
Appointments only!

How does it work?
House Team show “runs” will be broken down into quarters, to maximize your
rehearsal-vs-stage time ratio. Here is the basic schedule:
Sept, Oct, Nov: (BOTH Sundays each month)
15-20 minute indie team opener (either via invite or audition approval)
25 minute set Team A
25 minute set Team B
Dec, Jan, Feb: (BOTH Sundays each month)
15-20 minute indie team opener (either via invite or audition approval)
25 minute set Team C
25 minute set Team D
March, April, May: (BOTH Sundays each month)
15-20 minute indie team opener (either via invite or audition approval)
25 minute set Team A
25 minute set Team B
June, July, Aug: (BOTH Sundays each month)
15-20 minute indie team opener (either via invite or audition approval)
25 minute set Team C
25 minute set Team D
Note: Each team will hone 2 go-to formats or themes for each 3-month run. For example, a
team will perform one of their two formats on the 2nd Sunday of each month, and the other
format on the 3rd Sunday of each month.
What should I expect at the audition?
Come prepared to be open, collaborative, and show us who you are. You do you.
House Team auditions will be in a group setting. Auditioners will be assigned a time slot for the
audition with 3-6 randomly selected players. We will ask you to do a 15-20 minute montage set
with the other randomly selected players assigned to your time slot.
Indie Teams will be asked to audition as a team (with all team members present), and present
the format they wish to perform at their shows with us.
This is NOT a typical theatre audition - no need to prepare a monologue :)
