General
A degree programme is a coherent programme of study leading to the award
of a degree at first or second cycle level. At first cycle level, the degree programme will lead to the award of a university diploma or a bachelor’s degree
while at second cycle level, the programme will lead to a master’s degree
(one or two year).
Decisions to establish a new degree programme will be approved by the University board following a proposal from the faculty board concerned. The
faculty committee for First and Second Cycle Levels will draft the proposal
and refer the application to the faculty board.
Review process
The school(s) will submit an application for the establishment of a new degree programme to the committee concerned for first and second cycle programmes. The application should be signed by the head (s) of school(s) concerned. In the application it should be clearly stated which school should be
the ‘host’ school for the programme.
The application should include an analysis carried out in accordance with the
committees’ criteria as well as a proposal for a degree programme syllabus.
The application should be submitted to the committee for first and second
cycle level concerned for further drafting by the faculty board.
Administrators from the Faculty Office will present the agenda item to the
University board
