Phelan, Ph.D. Internationally renowned expert, author, and lecturer on child discipline and attention deficit disorder E ver since the mid-20th century self-esteem has posed an enigma to mental health professionals about the basis of self-esteem, how to raise it, and when or why self-esteem needs raising in the first place.
