Rocky I Bridge Installation

Rocky I Bridge
Installation
Park Butte Trail
June 2005
The Plan
The Park Butte Trail has over 8000 visitors of
all ages from June through September.
Project Objectives:
 1. Provide a safe bridge over Rocky Creek during the peak
summer season.
 2. Bridge to be removed for the off-season to avoid heavy
snow pack, uncertain stream flows, and flood events.
 3. Bridge component weights to be within the capability of
a type 3 helicopter (Hughes 500), approx. 1000 lbs.
 4. Annual bridge flight time, assembly, disassembly and
storage can be accomplished in two days or less.
