SUTTON PLACE HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION
03/17/16
Hello neighbors,
There have been plenty of changes that have taken place and some
really exciting opportunities forthcoming. The HOA board would like
to take the opportunity to communicate some important business
items and some exciting news for Sutton Place.
· Board members appointed:
o Based on the bylaws of our association; if a board member position
becomes vacant (such as through a resignation) during
a term, the remaining board members have the right
to appoint any individual in good standing to fulfill the
remaining part of the vacant term. Please refer to
Article II Section 4 of the Sutton Place HOA ByLaws
o Last month two members of the board resigned; John White
(Treasurer) and Ronald Mazzie (President). Both terms
are due up at the end of October 2016.
o The remaining board members appointed the following individuals
to fulfill the remaining 8 month terms:
§ Stas Kotula – (417 Clarence Julian Ave.) Treasurer
§ Armando Perez (1920 Faison Ave.) Vice President
· Elections are coming!!
o As mentioned above, October will grant us the opportunity to elect
new members. There will be three open positions:
§ Todd Karriker (204 Choate Ave) – President
§ Stas Kotula – (417 Clarence Julian Ave.) Treasurer
§ Armando Perez (1920 Faison) Vice President
o Two board members will have one year remaining:
§ Carson Luger (216 Choate Ave) – Secretary
§ Kendra King (240 Choate Ave) – Trustee
o Nomination cards will be mailed to the community in August. If you
are considering running, you must fill out the election
card and submit to First Choice Property Management,
Inc. two weeks prior to the Annual Meeting. Once an
exact date for the meeting is set, we will be able to
provide precise dates to the community.
o We hope the neighborhood is excited for these opportunities and
the board greatly appreciates your consideration.
· ARC board members:
o Stas and Armando were members of the ARC board. As a result of
their appointments to the HOA board there are now
two open positions on the ARC board.
o The ARC board is appointed by the HOA board and is not subject to
elections.
o The HOA board is currently searching for candidates to fill these
positions. If you would like to become a member of
the ARC board please contact us through email.

[if !supportLists]o [endif]The ARC board is an integral part of the
neighborhood. The board’s primary responsibility is to
ensure that the neighborhood abides by the
established and court recorded covenants. They also
approve, recommend and inspect homeowner
projects, yards, decks, fencing, etc.
[if !supportLists]o [endif]All volunteers must be considered in good
standing with the HOA (Current on Dues, Not currently
in violation)
o Construction experience is not required but preferred. The HOA
board welcomes those interested in learning more
about these positions and greatly appreciates your
consideration.
OK, that’s plenty of business information for now. How about the fun
stuff!
· Playground!!
o The playground is being delivered as we speak. Construction is
scheduled to start Friday, March 18, 2016.
o Construction will take roughly 2 to 3 days. It will open a couple days
after completion.
o The board is gathering mulch pricing. We are expecting to spread
the mulch on Saturday, April 9th. If you are interested
in helping spread mulch around our new playground
send us an email at [email protected]
o We really think you will love the new playground and the Carolina
Panther colors we chose.
· Easter Egg Hunt
o We are going to take a swing at an Easter Egg Hunt this year.
o The hunt will begin at 2:00PM on Saturday March 26th.
o It will be located in the pool common area.
o We are stuffing and hiding roughly 500 eggs for the kiddos to find.
o If you have an Easter Bunny costume handy and are willing to play
the part, give us a shout.
· Spring Garage Sale
o Held Saturday April 2nd
o 8am to 12pm
o The sign will be placed at the front entrance next week and ads
have been placed in the local media distributions.
· Pool Opening
o OK, it’s been hot….. but not that hot.
o The pool is on schedule to open in May. Once the board settles on a
date in May we will inform the community.
Thank you for helping us keep Sutton Place a wonderful place to
live. We ask for your patience as we continue through
these recent transitions. We hope you consider the
above opportunities and we look forward to yet
another great South Carolina summer.
Sincerely,
The Sutton Place HOA Board of Directors
