The unit beeps and enters operation mode. Initialization is complete. Note:Initialization returns the password to the factory default of 000000. No other data is changed or deleted. -4- Instruction Manual of PRX-18 Offline Access Controller II. PRX-18 POWER SUPPLYING PRX-18 6PIN Connector 123456 2wire(black)to power- 1wire(red)to power+ DC12V/3A The internal parts of PRX-18 series access controller use +5V power, external DC power requires DC9V—DC12V. Switch power is applied in the controller, which allows maximum voltage of DC15V. Over-voltage can cause PRX-18 series to enter protection mode or cause damages. There are over-voltage, overheat and over-current protections in PRX-18 series. III. Connecting the button of manual opening 6PINConnector 1 6 2 3 (Green)HANDLE (Black) GND IV. When choosing the power for driving the electric lock, actual power supply capacity and rated working voltage for the electric lock should be taken into account. The following table provides rated voltage and current for some common locks; Electric lock Pulse lock(1) Pulse lock(2) Electric strike Electric lock for glass doors Rated voltage 12V 12V 12V 12V 6- 3.3A 1.1A 0.38--1A Power supplied 42W 15W 6--15W 0.6—1.2A 15W Current Min. For example, if the lock is started to lock on in case of +12V, when the resistor is connected, favorable locking status can be maintained when the voltage is reduced to about +8V. (2) Power supply time for the electric lock (especially the pulse lock) should be set properly. For example, as to pulse lock, the power supply time should be set within 0.1-0.5 second in order to prevent heating from the coil inside the lock. VI. Programming of the Access Controller Press “ENT” and function keys to enter programming mode. Press “ENT” - the POWER light (red), OK light (green) and MODE light (orange) are all lit. Enter the six-digit system password - the unit beeps and the POWER light (red), OK light (green) and MODE light (orange) turn off and the access controller enters system programming mode. “0”: for users with membership card + password Press “0” – the POWER light (red), OK light (green) and MODE light (orange) are off. Enter a three-digit user name. If the OK (light) turns on, the input is valid. -9- Instruction Manual of PRX-18 Offline Access Controller Enter a six-digit password for the user the unit beeps. When the OK light (green) flashes, swipe the card and register. If the login is successful – the unit beeps the OK light (green) is off and the MODE light (orange) and POWER light (red) are on. The controller returns to setting state. Note: Card + password refers to users the open the door with card and correct password. “1”: change system password Press “1”, - The MODE (orange) light is on and the POWER (red) light and OK (green) light are off. Enter a six-digit password (e.g. 123456). The unit beeps and the OK (green) light flashes once and turns off, and the POWER (red) light and the MODE (orange) light turn on, indicating that the password change was completed successfully. The controller returns to setting state. Note: Make sure to keep the password since you will need it the next time you enter system programming mode. If you forget your password, carry out process of initialization. “2”: for users with membership card or password Press “2” - the MODE (orange) light is on and POWER (red) light and OK (green) light are off. Input a three-digit user name - If it is valid the OK (green) light is on. Swipe your card or enter your six-digit password – the unit gives a -10- Instruction Manual of PRX-18 Offline Access Controller long beep, the OK (green) light flashes once, and POWER (red) light and MODE (orange) light turn indicating the login was completed successfully. The controller then returns to setting state. Note: Card or password means that the user can open the door with either card or password. “3”: Delete single user Press “3” - the MODE (orange) light turns on and POWER (red) and OK (green) are out. Swipe the card to be deleted or input the three-digit user name to be deleted, if the unit beeps, OK (green) flashes once and then goes out, and POWER (red) and the MODE (orange) are on, the deletion is completed successfully and the controller returns to setting state. “4”: Delete all users Press “4” - the POWER (red) light turns off and the MODE (orange) light is on. Press “4” again - the MODE (orange) light and POWER (red) light are on, indicating all users were deleted successfully and the controller returns to setting state. “5”: Set opening time Press “5” – the MODE (orange) light is on, the POWER (red) light and OK (green”) light are off. Enter a three-digit time value (below 255). The unit beeps and the MODE (orange) light and POWER (red) light are on, indicating the -11 - Instruction Manual of PRX-18 Offline Access Controller opening time was set successfully. The controller returns to setting state. The default opening time is 005, namely 0.5 second. For example, 123 equates with 12.3S. 012 equates with 1.2S. “6”: Change user password Press “6” – the MODE (orange) light is on, POWER (red) light and OK (green”) light are off. Enter the user name. The unit beeps. Enter the new password. The unit beeps, the MODE (orange) light and POWER (red) light are on, and OK (green) light is off, indicating that the user password change was completed successfully. The controller returns to setting state. “ESC”: Exit from programming mode You can press “ESC” to exit programming mode at any time. The unit beeps, the MODE (orange) light and POWER (red) light are on, and OK (green) light is off, indicating that the controller exits normal operating mode from programming mode. Note: When adding users, if the unit beeps three short beeps, it means that the user is already registered. VII. Operating of the Access Controller After programming, the access controller enters normal working mode and the POWER (red) light is on, MODE (orange) light and OK (green) light are off. -12- Instruction Manual of PRX-18 Offline Access Controller Do as follows: Place the user card close to the controller or enter a six-digit user password, if the unit beeps and the OK (green) light flashes, the door is opened successfully. If the unit beeps three short beeps, the card or password is invalid and the door does not open. If a user uses a card and password to open the door (set when registering), the user must swipe the card correctly (if it is valid, the unit beeps and the OK light flashes to prompt the user to input the password; if it is invalid, the controller exits and waits for a new card and matching password. If the password is valid, the unit beeps and the door opens; if it is invalid, the controller exits and waits for new input. Note: This Access Controller supports three types of opening mode: card, password and card plus password. You cannot enter a password and swipe a card at the same time. -13- Packaging List PRX-18 Access Controller 1 Instruction Manual 1 Fixing plugs and screws 1 set 4PIN output cable 1 6PIN relay activation cable 1 14-
