*Today’s Events:
 HS Boys’ Basketball at Henry Co., 5/6/7:15
 HS Girls’ Basketball Class A Tournament at Eminence, Gallatin vs. Carroll, 7:00
 4-H Photography Club
*All archers must attend practice either Tuesday or Thursday of this week to participate in qualifiers to
determine who shoots at regionals. Only archers that paid their dues will be eligible to go. There are
a limited number of spots. Permission slips will be sent home with the qualifying students on Monday
of next week. Questions need to be directed to Coach Thompson.
*There will be a mandatory softball organizational meeting at 3:15, on Thursday, in Mrs. Puckett’s
room.

*Any 7th or 8th grade student interested in playing baseball for the Warriors this season please come
to the WAC Thursday January 10th at 4:30pm or contact Marcy Mudd at 502-257-2050
([email protected] ). This year our JV Baseball Team will include 7th and 8th grade students.
*Youth Coalition will host a Fifth Quarter this Friday, Jan. 11, from 9pm to midnight at New Castle
Christian Church. After the basketball game, come hang out with your friends and enjoy food, door
prizes, basketball, dodgeball and really bad karaoke. Free admission. High school students only,
please. See Derek Jeffries at HCHS or Mitchell Golden at EHS for more information.
*There will be a volleyball meeting after school in Mrs. Barrows’ Room on Wednesday, January 16 th,
at 3:10 for anyone wanting to play next year. This meeting is mandatory if you want to play!
*From your EHS Booster Club: for every 5 MS parents who work in the concession stand for any
games, the Booster Club will make a monetary donation to a MS sports program. We typically need 2
people for each game during all sports. For “big” games, we need 3 or 4. HS Football games require
at least 5. There will be a sign in sheet in the concession stand to keep track of the MS parents.

*The weight room will be open on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:10-4:00, for all boys
grades 8-11 interested in playing football next season. Attendance will be checked.

*4-H HAPPENINGS
 Beginning Sewing will meet every Monday through February (at least)
 Advanced Sewing will begin Thursday, January 10th (please bring your material and thread
with you)
 Dog Club will meet on the 28th at 6:00 at the fairgrounds
 Photography Club will meet on the 8th after school
 Scrapbooking will be the 11th after school
 Beginners Cooking (grades 4 and 5) will meet Tuesday the 15 th after school
 Advanced Cooking will meet the Wednesday the 16 th after school
 ***We will have a special activity “Just Dance” on the 25th from 3:30 to 5 at the extension office
 *** A new club, Rabbit and Poultry, will meet for the first time on the 28 th at the extension office
from 3:30 until 5
 FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL ONLY: we are developing a brand new program in 4-H
that we hope will be a huge success. Because of the nature of this work we only want grades
6-12 to participate. We are now offering a film making club that we hope will develop into a
competitive club in national competitions. Our first meeting will be held February 13th. If anyone

*Tuesdays and Thursdays after school is rock band practice. This group is replacing the Pep Band. If
you have talents in the arena of rock, please come talk to Mr. Moss. This means guitarists, bass
players, drummers, SINGERS (rock not opera), and any other talents you feel you can contribute to
the success of this group. We'll be cranking up the team and crowd - come see Mr. Moss after school
Tuesdays!!!!
*Wednesday and Friday is a "popular music" vocal group that will be meeting. If interested, please
see Mr. Moss. Even if you are not in choir; if you want to sing some current hits with a group, come
see us on Wednesday and Thursday (if only one day works, please still come and see Mr. Moss).
*If you didn't get your 2011/12 yearbook, we still have a few left! You can buy one for the bargain
price of $30.00. See Mrs. Lively today! They won't last long.
