Press release Berlin AI company parlamind raises € 1.5 M seed round Berlin­based Artificial Intelligence company parlamind raises € 1.5 M in a first round of financing to develop an AI for Customer Service based on latest research in Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. Berlin, June 7th, 2016 ­ Berlin starts to develop more deep tech startups. One recent example is Artificial Intelligence company parlamind which according to its founders will revolutionize Customer Service. Venture Capital firms MOTU Ventures, Asgard Capital, and angelfund.vc now invested into the company together with Business Angels and co­founders of Berlin Cloud­Company Signavio Gero Decker, Torben Schreiter, and Gerrit de Veer. “We now have € 1.5 M under our belt which we intend to invest into the further development of our product as well as our first steps into the market”, says co­founder and CEO Christian Wolf. Wolf previously founded wirkaufens, an E­Commerce company and scaled it to over 100 employees. AI­Researcher and parlamind’s Chief Technology Officer Tina Klüwer explains: “The product will have 3 capabilities: understand Customer Service communication, extract customer intent, and react accordingly. Currently our AI’s understanding capability is already used by a dozen online retailers for analyzing their incoming messages and the customer issues contained therein. This was up to now a very tedious manual task and parlamind makes this information available with only a few clicks”. parlamind also detects customers’ level of frustration at the time a message was written and allows to analyze this information as well. The current feature set enables companies to pinpoint flaws in their processes and priorize their Customer Experience optimization based on real customers’ input. Klüwer and Wolf deliberately chose this group of investors. “We need investors who understand the challenges of developing a complex technology and who can support us in the next phase of company building”, says Klüwer. Among the investors are AI­focused VC Fabian Westerheide of Asgard Capital as well as highly experienced Software­as­a­Service entrepreneurs Decker, Schreiter, and de Veer.
