►Shaded counties are currently monitorable
with a non-digital (analog) scanner, except encrypted areas.
► Unshaded counties use the Colorado Digital Trunking
Radio System (DTRS), and require a digital scanner
such as the GRE PSR-500/600, Uniden BC-396/996,
or the Radio Shack PRO-96/2096 or PRO-106/197.

Metro Denver: Denver PD/FD/Ambulance uses an analog EDACS trunk with a special ESK
control channel, and requires a GRE PSR-500/600, Radio Shack PRO-106/197, PRO-107, or
a Uniden BC-396/996 with CPU upgrade 3.x to receive. The Lakewood/West Metro
Fire/Wheat Ridge trunk system is now P25 digital, like the DTRS. Aurora, DIA, and
Arvada/Westminster currently use an analog EDACS trunk, and can be monitored with an
analog trunking scanner. See denver-radio.com for more information.
