Changing Health by Acting Together.

You are invited….
Dear Upper Swan Primary School parents and students,
On Wednesday 26th September, Upper Swan Primary School is holding its
inaugural Healthy Living Day. The purpose of this day is:
Changing Health by Acting Together.
Our Health Day will promote healthy choices through a range of activities
covering road safety, drug education, resilience education, healthy eating,
relaxation and physical activity.
Our Health Day aims to promote community involvement in our whole pastoral
care programme.
The day will consist of ‘stations’ around the school. There will be activities like
making fruit kebabs, Team building, turn taking games, badge making, story
time, yoga, line dancing and many others.
Pre-primary to Year 6 students will be in mixed groups. The groups will then
move through 9 of the 19 stations available according to the pre-designated roster.
Parents will be able to participate at stations with their children.
Kindergarten students will also be attending a workshop run by St John Ambulance where they will cover
such topics as looking for danger; checking for response (talk and squeeze); calling 000; ambulance and
paramedic – stranger danger.
Parents have not been forgotten. Miss Kongras has organised three workshops for them:
Snack Shop presented by the WA School Canteen Association,
Transition from primary school to high school by Jo Nagle, and
Resilience by Jodie Bertram.
Parents will need to register to attend these sessions – please return
the attached sheet to Miss Kongras.
We hope to see you there.
