JUANITA PEREZ WILLIAMS RECEIVES SECOND LABOR ENDORSEMENT
Friday afternoon, United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, Local #195 endorsed
Juanita Perez Williams for Mayor. This marks the second major labor endorsement of the 2017 election.
Union President Kevin Milligan said, “Juanita has always been there for us, now we are proud to be
there for her. Roofers #195 is assured Juanita will be in the corner of the hardworking men and women
of our community, making sure our voices are heard. We are proud to be giving our endorsement to her
for Mayor of Syracuse. She will not forget the men and women of Labor.”
United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied Workers, Local #195 is affiliated with the North
American Building Trades Union and is dedicated to providing a highly skilled tradesperson. They offer
the latest in training and technology so that every job completed by their craftsman is guaranteed to be
the best the industry has to offer.
Perez Williams is the only New York union member running for Mayor and has worked closely with
many unions in the region as Regional Director for the Department of Labor. Regarding the
endorsement, Perez Williams said, “I am grateful and honored to receive United Union of Roofers,
Waterproofers and Allied Workers, Local #195 endorsement. A strong workforce starts with strong
unions, and I will be a mayor who always gives a voice to our working men and women. This is a role I
have lived at the Department of Labor, and one I look forward to continuing to serve as Mayor.”
In addition to her role in the Department of Labor, Perez Williams received the 2016 Greater Syracuse
Labor Council’s “Friend of Labor” Award, handled Labor cases as an Assistant Attorney General and is a
former Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy.
This is the third major endorsement for Perez Williams. The Public Employees Federation (PEF) endorsed
her earlier this month and the national veterans’ organization, VoteVets PAC endorsed her candidacy in
March.
